Dan Cathy, Chick-Fil-A President, On Anti-Gay Stance: 'Guilty As Charged' It's refreshing to see a company so confident in their sales figures that they have no problem alienating millions of customers and advertisers. http://ironicsurrealism.com/2012/...farrakhan/ Hypocrisy Now! Rahm Emanuel Vows To Ban Anti-SSM Chick-fil-A BUT Welcomes Virulently Anti-Gay NOI Farrakhan And His Chi-Town Eatery http://michaelgraham.com/archives...in-boston/ The facts are not in dispute: Mayor Menino gave a $1.8 million tax-dollar donation to build a mosque. He was there when the mosque opened. And this mosque teaches homosexuality is a sin to be punished by death. Last edited by Xygonn; 07-30-2012 at 12:02 PM.. |

Both situations are messed up. But this thread wasn't about ignoring what liberals are doing wrong and focusing on conservatives. It's only about pointing out how foolish a multinational company is for taking a stance that will certainly cost it millions of dollars. Not to mention make them look like a bunch of bigots. |

Though I'm not sure the average consumer cares about this enough to cause a loss of millions of dollars [twitchy.com]. Last edited by paperboy05; 07-30-2012 at 12:22 PM.. GZ Case:

From a business stand point, I think their worst religious based decision is not being open on Sunday. Even more so than all the anti whatever that has been going on lately. The chick fil a near me just about always has customers, especially on Saturdays and I'd imagine Sundays would be just as good if not better.
What better place to stop for lunch on the way home from church than a joint that has similar conservative views... |

See, now that's the wrong reaction. I agree. The reaction to this should be "what a bunch of ignorant bigots, this will cost them money", not "lets shut them down because they're bigots". I hope the ACLU will step in to defend them from getting banned. |

I honestly don't see what is the big deal here. A privately owned company that is closed on Sundays, (actively practices what they believe), support their faiths belief in the definition of marriage. I mean honestly, who would have expected a Christian to believe what the bible says, and live their life or run their business accordingly?
Who is the media trying to fool here? Did anyone honestly not realize that the company that is closed on Sundays so their employees can go to church if they want, is a Christian company? Is this some big news to people, that they are just realizing it? |

Christians ,while it pains us , allow anyone who want's to be gay to do so. True Christian belief is to hate the sin, not the sinner. But ultimately it is the individuals choice as to what they want to do in their own lives. We are here to spread the Word, not to judge. Same can be said for divorce, premarital sex ect ect..... If you want to see bigotry, look at the religions that would kill you for some of those actions..... Last edited by sanfran22; 07-30-2012 at 01:05 PM.. |

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bigotry Opposing marriage equality because of your religion is bigotry. If it were as simple as saying "I'm against homosexuality, but for marriage equality" there wouldn't be an issue. When it becomes bigotry is when you say "because I believe that homosexuality is wrong, gay people shouldn't have the same rights as me". |
