Ferrari 458 Spider Driver Runs Over Cop's Foot

Obviously the youtube comments are typical, but what do you think? Was the cop working within the confines of his profession?

I saw this video the other day, and I think the cop had every right to act as he did.

I think the cop was in the right.

The driver is an idiot. He should have first tried to tell the officer the car was parked legally (according to the video description he was in the hotel valet zone and the valet had just given the dude the keys). If that didn't work, he should just take the ticket get a note from the hotel that he was a legit customer. This would let him easily beat the ticket in court. He could also take the cop's badge number and complain to the police department that the cop was an idiot.

The cop was stupid to get in front of a moving vehicle. The guy was stupid to not lock his door. This is what happens when two giant idiots collide. I think the lift the guy out of the car and throw him on the ground thing was a bit excessive.

Whether you think getting a ticket is deserved or not you don't drive away from a cop and sure not in/on to him.

Now I'm not sure why the guy was picked up and thrown on to the car and then the ground but if he wasn't such a douche trying to drive away from the cop that wouldn't have happened...

That's assuming that's what the ticket was for. There was a thread in the lounge already and Hawk noticed that the car didn't have a front license plate, big in NYC.

How not to get out of a ticket

Still stupid to get in front of a moving car, even if you are "right" to do it, you could be just as dead/injured as if you were wrong. I don't know how the traffic tickets work in NYC, but around here they also take a picture. In fact, they usually take the picture first. Not sure if this guy has a dash cam or not. In any event, how many spiders driven by guys matching that description are there? I'm sure the guy would love to have a warrant out for arrest for attempting to evade a police officer/hit and run.

Likewise, the driver locking his door might not have put him in the "right" but at least he wouldn't have been violently pulled from his car.

The driver is wealthy enough to afford a Spider yet stingy when it comes to using an attorney to fight the ticket.

IMO paying the tribute demanded by the City-State of New York would have been the slicker deal.

No, I saw that. I'm sure he did it in hopes the guy would realize he'd have to go through him to get out of there and wouldn't bother. Personally I'd expect a cop to do something like that.
