Hoka's are very popular in the running groups and blogs, due to their comfort. However there are also complaints about a lack of long term durability in customer reviews. It's hard to say if that's from individuals abusing their pair, or quality control of Hoka.

I'd rather stick to Adidas, Nike or Brook.
