I'm new to this, can this be used to extend an existing subscription? If so, how many years can you build up? Thanks!
e: Judging by comments in the other thread, looks like the answers are yes and 5 years

Got the deal, $106 for 4 years. Came out to $26.50 a year. Well worth it for the storage alone. The other stuff like full versions of Word, Excel, etc. is a nice thing to have but the storage is what I was really looking forward to maintaining. Hopefully it arrives quickly as I put priority shipping.

I also hopped on the order 3 and use the coupon bandwagon. I too was debating getting family at $99 earlier in the week and am glad I declined. This is a pretty solid deal. Now to see if I really want to go with family or see if personal will be better for me.

Thanks. Been waiting for the $30 deal to come back which is the cheapest even for family sub. Placed two orders of 3 each to take advantage of the $20 off coupon. Too bad it's not digital so had to pay tax. Also 4% on a couple cashback sites.

Appears to be dead now on hp.com. I did manage to order at discounted price through Walmart.com (HP as the seller): https://www.walmart.com/ip/Micros...5053033341

Just redeemed my codes today and extended my Personal subscription to 4 and a half years. All I had to do was follow the instructions included with the card. (I wanted to redeem 5 cards, but for the last card I have to wait for the current year to run out because the cap is 5 years.)

P.S. Last I checked, PayPal had 1% cash back at HP

Did you add multiple codes before signing back into your Microsoft account to simplify the process?

I just realized you were extending an existing personal subscription. The instructions in the pinned post by @covertfantom requires logging out and I was just curious if 36 months of personal could be stacked before logging back in to convert to 27 months family. Should work that way in theory and was just seeking confirmation.

UPDATE: The process to convert from Personal to Family must be repeated for each new license.

If you have an existing family subscription, you can use a personal subscription towards renewing the family subscription. It's prorated somewhat, but the math works out such that it is better than buying a discounted family subscription to renew your existing family subscription. There are lots of other threads that go into the math, so you can look for it or just take my word for it.

So you have to have an active family subscription for this to work?

I purchased 3 of these and would like to convert and use them on a family plan. I do not have any microsoft subscription currently.

When it worked, yes, you would have had to have an active family plan already.

It looks like the conversion option is now gone.

I just tried it normally, by just entering the key and it giving me the option to convert. Then with the MS Word workaround. They both didn't work. After spending 45 minutes with support, it appears the option to convert is now gone. The conversion formula that MS used to have listed is also gone from their site.

I managed to get mine activated. I signed up for free 1 month trial of family 365. Google search, you should be able get a free trial too.

Then I opened the normal microsoft word on my desktop computer (not the 365 version). Sign out (on the top right) of your account in word. Close word. Reopen word, dont log in yet, use the option to use product key. Enter the 365 personal key, it will ask you to sign in. Sign in, proceed through the steps, it will notice you have an active family plan and ask if you want to keep it. Take that option, it should add around 9 months to your subscription.
