From its humble beginnings in Seattle’s Pike Place Market to the more than 22,000 locations around the world, Starbucks has been selecting and roasting quality coffee beans to serve the best coffee possible since 1971. Not only has Starbucks expanded their presence to become the biggest name in coffee, they’ve also expanded their menu to include teas, pastries and even sandwiches.
While there are number of ways to save money at Starbucks by tweaking the way you order (like ordering a triple espresso in a venti cup and then filling it up with milk from the condiment area to make a $2 latte), there are also plenty of ways to avoid spending your entire budget on coffee drinks, while still ordering what you want. The easiest way to save, especially if you’re hitting up Starbucks every day (or multiple times a day), is to join their loyalty program. Rewards members earn free food and drink rewards (called “Stars”) when they purchase products at Starbucks or from their website. You can also earn rewards when you buy Starbucks products from certain grocery stores. Additionally, you’ll get a free drink on your birthday, plus coupons and other offers through email. The more Stars you earn, the more benefits you get, like free refills on coffee and tea or free food and drink items.
Signing up for the Starbucks newsletter will get you 10% off your next order, as well as the latest news and offers. And while you may not see many other deals for in-store discounts, there are definitely deals to be had when purchasing products from the Starbucks website. You’re likely to see promo codes in the range of 5 to 40% off various items, as well as free items (like coffee mugs or a bag of coffee beans) with the purchase of other regularly priced items. You’ll also frequently find free shipping with these items as well. The Starbucks website also runs seasonal and holiday sales, where you’ll find items marked down 20 to 40%. Just keep an eye on this page to stay updated on the latest and greatest deals.
