Walmart has finally released its highly anticipated Black Friday ad scan, and it looks like the TV deals are yet again taking center stage. So which deals are great, and which ones aren't worth your time?
We're rounding up the top price breaks from the 2019 Walmart Black Friday sale to help you score the best deals possible. Walmart is known for its competitive Black Friday TV and tech prices, and this year's sale is no exception. Some deals are in-store only, but most will be available to online shoppers, as well. Here are some of the highlights from this year's ad:
Our forum users have given top honors to the $700 eGift card smartphone bonus. Slickdealer msp3 says this deal is "even better than Sam's $400 GC offer! That is, if you want an iPhone XS (which gets 1/2 of MSRP back as GC)."
Slickdealers are also happy with the $129 Apple Watch Series 3 and AirPods. And if you're looking for TVs, the store will have a Philips 65" 4K TV for $278 and a VIZIO 65" 4K for $398.
That being said, if the last few years have taught us anything, it's that it pays to take a hard look at heavily promoted TV deals. Some of the steepest discounts were on off-brand models better suited for a kids' playroom or den. Be sure to check the specs and see if they fit your needs before you commit to a purchase.
Also, be sure to compare prices at competitors like Kohl's, Best Buy and Target. Kohl's Black Friday ad features several similar offers on home goods and video games, but the store will throw in $15 Kohl's Cash for every $48 you spend during its Black Friday event. For instance, the Xbox One S 1TB Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order bundle will be the exact same price at Kohl's this year — but it comes with $60 Kohl's Cash.
As we predicted, the 2019 Walmart ad scan was released late in the evening on Wednesday, November 13th. The store has a history of leaking its ad on Wednesday nights. (It did so on November 7th last year and November 8th in 2017.)
Once again, Walmart is opening its doors at 6 p.m on Thanksgiving Day. Friday's hours will vary, so be sure to check with your local Walmart before heading out. Many Walmart locations have simply remained open through Friday in years past.
Key departments, such as toys, electronics, home and apparel, will be color-coded throughout the store with balloons and signs to help you navigate the sale. Plus, customers can download the Walmart mobile app for an interactive guide to all the deals.
Walmart's online sale officially starts on Wednesday night, with deals going live at 10 p.m. ET. For those of you who love Black Friday but hate the crowds, some late-night online shopping may be the perfect solution.
With that said, the store is already offering several early Black Friday deals online — including some pretty big discounts on 4K TVs from leading brands like Samsung, LG and TCL. If you're shopping for a new TV this holiday season, we suggest taking a look.
Walmart's free two-day shipping includes millions of items, but you'll still need to make a $35 minimum purchase for the free shipping to apply (or just ship your order to your local store to avoid the shipping charges altogether).
With deals kicking off early this year, shopping from home is probably your best strategy. That being said, some items may sell out online relatively fast — and some items are in-store only. If a trip to the store is necessary to get your holiday must-haves, then plan on arriving before doors open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
Relying on store-offered discounts isn't the only way to save. Here are a few other money-saving hacks to help you get the best possible deals during the Walmart Black Friday sale.
