It's amazing how polarizing an essential oil diffuser can be.

I agree that the notion of aromatherapy as some sort of physical healing pathway is bunk. You know, because it is. Science and all.

But what's not bunk is that people like pleasant smells. Aromatherapy as a fragrance delivery mechanism is not bunk; it's been proven time and again that it can reduce stress, relax the body, or stimulate the brain. Science at all.

Not interested in aromatherapy? Just want your room to smell nice? This will do that. You don't have to believe it's going to cure cancer or clear toxins from your body (I feel dumb just writing that out), but you can enjoy the smell. Given how much shelf space is dedicated to plug-ins, candles, sprays, and various diffusers...folks like nice smells.

If you live in a place with low humidity - especially during the winter - these are nice for making a single room more comfortable. Are you going to bring the relative humidity (RH) from 20% to 50% with this thing? Nope. But it absolutely can make a noticeable difference (there's a lot of factors that go into this, the science of which I explained in detail in one of the other diffuser threads).

For me, I like diffusers for the last two reasons. I picked up the 600mL Housmile unit for $10 when it was up on SD a couple of weeks ago and I use it in my office with a minimal amount of oil (1 drop per 100mL). I run it all day and it's perfect for adding a subtle fragrance without being overpowering. Furthermore, it completely eliminates issues with static electricity that I have during the winter. At such a low concentration - and since I'm not ingesting the EO or using it topically - I feel pretty comfortable using the cheap $5 bottles from Walmart.

As for the quality of this particular unit: who knows. Ultrasonic diffusion is not a complicated or expensive technology. I try not to underestimate the lengths to which a Chinese company will go to shave a penny from the cost of production, but given the similarity of these to other diffusers, I assume they're all made by but a handful of companies. Don't leave it unattended and don't trust it to shut off on its own if the water runs out, but overall, it's probably fine.

Great deal if they're decent quality. Wonder how easy they are to clean!

This is decent deal. I got one for 6.5$ in the previous deal. If you wish to try one, this is a no brainier at 6$ a piece. Makes a great gift too.

I bought one so thanks but then I saw on Fakespot that the product got an "F" for review quality so who knows? It comes up as "Amazon's preferred choice" so maybe that's good.
