I think not. the bricks can be easily (or at least easier) replicated and there's no special/limited pieces/minifigs. The only thing that's collectible is the box. It is kind of rare that people collect lego for just the box? I may be totally off. Cheers.

It'll increase in value after they no longer sell it, since it is limited edition. However the value might be minimal for a while if they have a ton to sell.

Maybe deleted because it was sold out. Search "Lego 60th anniversary" and the top link has a link to the sale at Walmart site. The $5.65 box collection I'm assuming?

Totally agree. Nothing special. Not paying more for the box.

The book is the collectible part of this set.

Personally i don't think so just due to the amount produced; i thought originally there was only a limited number of sets being sold; but at the same time most Lego sets do resell on eBay for more, years later but again it's all about the set.

This is a small small set so I can't see it going way way up for a decade

I don't think Lego makes anything in limited supply anymore. Too much money left for the secondary market and too many angry customers for them to limit supply. They'll likely produce these to demand, though I suppose these 60th anniversary sets might be limited to this year only. All the other in demand sets such as Saturn V, Women of NASA, and recent modulars have had reruns.

You have to remember that there was only 15k of these sets made and they were a walmart/jet.com exclusive. The book is what I imagine will be far more collectible since it is limited to 15k also and takes up less space

Good point, although the book in not guaranteed, they put the clause "while supply last"?
