I don't know about the reel part of it, but I have a 50ft version of the hose-only and it's great. Easy to work with, quality connections, very hosey.

Always best to have a longer hose.

Yep. I have two of the better horrible fraught coil hoses now and I'm gonna get a third one.

I have the 25ft version (non-reel). It's survived two Minnesota winters and still going strong, where the previous plastic coil kinked and leaked with just one season. I found 50ft is a little long to wrap around my Husky compressor's handle.

Due to friction with the hose walls, air flow is encumbered by length, so unless your compressor is sufficiently oversized for the tools that you use, it is best to have a hose no longer than you will actually need.

Edit: While what I said above is theoretically true, the pressure loss due to length in a 3/8" hose is pretty small and probably won't matter much. For 1/4" hoses though, extra length has a more severe impact. https://www.gates.com/resources/c...calculator

How does this hose do during cold weather? Is it hard or impossible to unroll it?

I bought a 100 ft Goodyear hose from Amazon and a 100 ft manual reel from Harbor Freight a few years ago. You can get the attachments for hooking to your compressor for filling tires. Here's some links. If you go to Harbor Freight they can tell you what attachments you'll need. You can get cheaper hoses that length or search online for a better price, but this works good.

Flexzilla really stands out from the rest in the cold weather. It doesn't feel any different in my 30F Minnesota garage than in summer.

Says it's rated and flexible to -40F. I'm in MN, will try it out - likely ceiling mounted.

From some of the Amazon reviews:

"The hose is great and maintains its flexibility in a range of temperatures. It gets pretty cold during the winters where I live and my garage is not insulated. It's dropped below zero a couple of times and I have had zero issues getting this out to air up car tires etc."

"Super flexible hose does not get stiff I cold weather"

"Nice flexible hose, even when cold."
