Due to friction with the hose walls, air flow is encumbered by length, so unless your compressor is sufficiently oversized for the tools that you use, it is best to have a hose no longer than you will actually need.Edit: While what I said above is theoretically true, the pressure loss due to length in a 3/8" hose is pretty small and probably won't matter much. "The hose is great and maintains its flexibility in a range of temperatures. It gets pretty cold during the winters where I live and my garage is not insulated. It's dropped below zero a couple of times and I have had zero issues getting this out to air up car tires etc."
