Best Buy is clearing last year's inventory to make room for a new model. This Insignia refrigerator is in stock new for $429 with free delivery where they'll even bring it up the stairs and take your old fridge down the stairs or take it in to dispose of it for an extra $15 disposal fee. Insignia is Best Buy's store brand made for them by one of the major manufacturers. This fridge is available in white or black with SKUs 5838109 and 5838111 respectively. Default door configuration is handle on the left / opening right but it can be reversed.

As of this morning there were plenty open box options in SFBay alone at $278.99. for "fair" condition, $321.99 for "satisfactory" or $343.99 for "excellent" condition. Just poked around a few major cities, seeing 3 white ones in "fair condition" for $278.99 in stock in Philadelphia.

According to their policies, to qualify for "excellent", it has to be like new, "satisfactory" allows only minor scratches and blemishes and if there's even a slightest dent, then it's "fair condition". I scored one "fair" for $278.99 that only had a couple of very slight scratches and a microscopic dent at the bottom of the right side, which I won't see because it'll be next to the countertop anyway. It's like new otherwise.

I had to call a couple of stores to confirm they actually had in store what the website showed and asked to describe the condition.

Only appliances priced $399 and up qualify for free delivery and they don't care if they have to deliver across state lines or across the country, otherwise for less expensive items there is a delivery charge of $69.99. I wasn't that far from the store to go pick it up and keep it at 278.99.

Kinda cool that they have an option to check for open box units online. Those would be worth it. However, $430 for an 18.1 cu ft fridge is pretty standard. I see it Frigidaire units for that much at Lowes all the time.

I was wondering same thing. I know newer models won't warranty if it they fail because of extreme temperatures like in a garage
