Straight from Nintendo. Say what you will about Nintendo, but they're refurbished items are always brand new looking. They're one of the few companies I'm always 100% confident in purchasing refurb items from.

Tax does kill the deal a little, but compared to a new one for ~$325 after tax, this is pretty decent. That's extra $75 for a game. If I didn't already own a Switch, I'd take the certified refurb.

That's Nintendo refurbished my friend they update their inventory to the latest fw, the chances you get low firmware from retailers are higher.

You my friend need to do a little more research. I clearly stated Hardware Revision not Firmware. They can update the firmware ALL they want and the Switch original hardware is still hackable. They literally required that Nvidia fix the issue at the chip level. So yeah there's no way to block the year 1 batch of Switch consoles from being hacked.

Has nothing to do with firmware. It is a hardware exploit that cannot be patched with software. They did a hardware revision to make the exploit not work on new consoles, but for all the pre-existing units, they are hackable regardless of fw.

I bought my Wii U from Nintendo refurbished. It came in a box with everything looking brand new. Only difference to the box is that it states it's refurbished. To this day, still works perfectly. This is a good deal if you're looking for a Switch.
