I own this. They're great. My friends enjoy coming over to my house just to use the automatic lid. They're strange.

Been planning on replacing my kitchen garbage can. Does anyone who owns this know if the sensor feature can be turned on/off? And how airtight is this? Thanks!

Not sure if they still have it but Costco used to have a 13 gal auto sensing stainless steel in store for $40

It's currently $50 and on inventory closeout. I'd guess a new model is inbound.

not at all "airtight" but for a trash can it shuts pretty well closed. also the sensor can be turned on and off there is a switch on the back side of the lid

I picked this up from the last deal. Much smaller than i expected. (but still fits 13 gallon bag)
I haven't noticed any odors coming from it when filled up. The flap that open and closes doesnt have any rubber seals but does an OK job.

I have 2 of these and both work great! Wife was skeptical at first but now she loves the automatic lid. We have no issues with odors.

I've been patiently waiting for this deal to pop back up. I have two of these, the first in SS, the second in White. Both have worked great since day 1. Also, FWIW, I read there's mod's that allow you to use an AC adapter instead of batteries. But honestly I think I've had to change the batteries one time in a total of 12 months (with daily usage). I've dropped the lid numerous times and it's still works. In for a third! TY OP, repd

Been on the hunt for a new trash can for the kitchen. Our dogs have recently outsmarted our current step can, and have welcomed us with garbage strewn across the floor on multiple occassions.

In that case this will be worse. If they are tall enough, this becomes a buffet for them. My 8 lb. Puppy stretched himself to get the sensor to open and then its feasting time.
