internet is full of bs standards, check out a TV for yourself, eg. Many oleds don't get that high brightness but looking amazing when hdr is on (especially Dolby vision)
The TCL 6 series fairs 50% better at 600 nits but really...What panel do you have? Because if it doesnt get bright enough? Better to get the 1080p extended versions that Amazon has than to watch a 4K bluray and be disappointed.
If you think a dim TV will render HDR in a satisfactory way then I'm no one to say otherwise. However the Science and math has spoken.

This isn't an argument based on emotion (most others are) because their feelings get hurt when content doesn't render as it should.
