Same price at Target and with the 20% BF coupon + 5% RedCard discount, becomes cheaper than BF price of $24/Dot. $19 pre tax if my calculation is correct.

Thanks OP!
I love the first comment dividing 50 by two for us all...
I got my $1 dot and a $24 dot on BF. I love them, if I didn't have these two already I'd go for this deal.
The $1 Dot I got was a pleasant surprise. Stream music on it while I'm in the kitchen... Not boomy but fills up the kitchen with decent audio.

Only issue I've had so far is that it doesn't seem to want to stay connected to 5Ghz band. Works fine on 2.4

Ring is not even an option because there are tons of other wifi cameras on the market that offer cloud storage for free like Arlo and Kasa. Nest is still relevant because it's the only wifi cam on the market that offers continuous 24/7 recording.
Arlo does not offer free cloud storage. I have 3 Arlo camera and you have to pay for recording.

Wrong. Arlo offers 7 days of cloud storage for free.

You're right! Man, I'll have to break the cameras out again. That wasn't the case when I first bought them a year or so ago.

Love to find a similar deal but on the Google Home Mini. It is a lot smarter in my experience as brother has one.
Then you don't have much experience. Home mini never understands what is asked of it and the google function is like priority 20 on things I use it for. Ie smart home music lists weather calendar shipping alerts intercom find my phone outbound calls trivia reading books changing temperature restaurant hours. Google mini does some of that stuff just way clunkier.

Yes it does. Do yourself a favor and take 30 seconds and google it. Unless you are speaking of continuous recording

A quick note for anyone who has the 2nd gen echo dots and thinking about upgrading, Amazon has a trade in program + discount that is applicable. You could use it towards a single at $29.99 or this two pack for $50

Basically, they will give you $5 for each 2nd gen echo dot you mail back, they pay for shipping of course. Also, you'll give a 25% discount toward the purchase of a 3rd gen. If you just wanted one, $29.99 - 25% - $5 account credit is $18 for a sing, additional savings for a double. You get a couple weeks to mail back the old one, so it's not a mail back and wait for the discount situation, you get everything up front for the promise you'll mail it back and you can use the same box the new one comes in.

I only needed to upgrade one, but it is a nice deal for multiple if you are upgrading anyway.

1. We're not talking about other companies Z- wave products that work with the system. Also, Google owns Nest, so, yes, many more products, made by the same company, designed to compliment each other.
2. Whether or not you use the available features is a personal decision. Ring doesn't give you the option.
3. Again, less options.
4. Ring has no way to give you better quality. Less options, less futureproof.
5. But it's not available now, and perhaps never will be. Why limit yourself?
6. It seems like all of your points are self defeating, but if you like Ring better, enjoy.
1. Ring is owned by Amazon bro. You think Amazon doesn't make as many products as Google?
2. Huh? Same can be said for Nest. Nest doesn't give you the option to only record when there's motion.
3. Ring just added a new scrolling timeline to its app.
4. Nest doesn't allow better quality than the default either. They only allow you to turn down the quality to save on internet, which is only necessary if you're recording 24/7.
5. Because Ring's services are wayyyyyy cheaper than Nest's? I can sacrifice a minor feature or two.
