I bought the "Upgraded" kit last year and am very pleased with the quality. To make a complete rifle, add an 80% or licensed finished receiver; and magazine and sights.
80% lower receiver: Lower receivers that are nearly complete and only require>
1. Milling out of the receiver interior
2. Cutting of the trigger slot
3. Drilling of the trigger pin hole
4. Drilling of the hammer pin hole.
5. Drilling of the selector hole.
ALL ASSEMBLY REQUIRED which involves tools.

Also, the receiver isn't the most important thing on your rifle, it's better to get a nicer upper section
