Here's one more jack if you pretend you are part of the Inside Track Club. It is $10 more, but has wheels instead of the rollers and a 3 ton capacity. I also think it is one of the newer jacks they have come out with.

Thanks. Which is a better value, the alum 1.5 ton jack for $60 or this 3 tonner for $70? I'll be using it on a 3ton suv.

True, but I doubt the truck is balanced so that each half is exactly 1.5 ton. If I was crawling underneath a 3ton suv, $10 is way worth the peace of mind. 3ton is obviously more than enough, but IMO, the 1.5 would be too close to capacity for my comfort.

If you have a SUV that is 6,000 lbs like a Suburban or Expedition I'd go for a higher rated jack like the 3 ton. It isn't aluminum though so it probably is much heavier, but if your SUV is 6,000 lbs, chances are that lifting the engine end is going to near/exceed the rating of the 1.5 tons jack.

I missed free shipping on $99+ last weekend - how often does that offer come around?

I had enough stuff in my cart to qualify last weekend, but I wanted to what for my credit card cycle to roll before I pulled the trigger.

Now the $59 floor jack I wanted is OOS. DOH!!!

I checked both out during lunch since I went to HF. IMHO I'd go the 3 ton jack. It is much more substantial and if you don't mind the weight - I personally like a heavier jack anyways. It's a rapid pump jack and you can get full lifting height in 5 pumps when not loaded. My old jack takes about 3x that many.

Addition: I should note that there was a 3 ton aluminum jack for $69.99, but the coupons which were in the wiki expired on 6/15. Usually, that means there is a good chance such a price could be had in the future.

Try calling the customer line. If you aren't planning on going to the store, they may make you a deal on another similar jack. Although it has been a while, we have heard people that people have been lucky going that route.

Also there is a email address on Facebook (think is is [email protected]). HF seems to want to keep its HF fans happy and they have been upping their customer service through that email address.

Was in Egg Harbor, NJ on vacation yesterday and spotted a HF store. Stopped to see what they had on clearance and discovered I did not have my coupons, ITC card, or any free item coupons with me. Mentioned that it is unheard of for me to leave a HF store w/o at least 1 free item. Found three great clearance items an in talking with the staff during checkout one suddenly gave me a 20% off coupon and a free flashlight coupon.....Can't beat that for service.

I've cleaned out my local stores of clearance items! Love visiting new stores!
Found some 5 cent and 7 cent items last week!

Nice cashier...
btw, if you can't find the free items, always ask...they usually have cases of them under the register. (flashlights, tape measures, etc)

We'll be taking a "family" trip to HFT on July 4th...so I can use 4 or 8 25% off coupons. I usually buy a lot of gift cards, then send the wife and kids through separately, sometimes twice, through different lanes....

I have a question.. the 1 ton HF engine lift will it fit in a 95 ford tarus sedan? I was going to put it in my Subaru wagon however I need the lift in order to pull the engine in it to do the headgaskets but now I can't really drive that far to get to the store (30 miles one way) So I'm forced to use a sedan..

One of these days, I would like to get one of those big red US General tool cabinets, but I can't seem to find a way to get a slickdeal on them. The 20% off coupons no longer apply to them and the coupons I see in magazines and newspapers for those cabinets are always the same price.
