Hi HF Guys:
Just returned from a short trip to FL. Stopped by a HF store in Tampa that I had to drive by each day and I purchased one 49 cent item to get my free gift and some sanding belts that my local HF store does not stock and used my 20% off coupon. After 3 days of purchasing just 2 items, and while checking out, I let my stack of free coupons and 20% off coupons fall onto the counter while looking for my ITC card to show the checkout person how stupid their one coupon per day policy was unless you drive by a HF store each day. But policy is policy, YEA right. Driving on 95 I pass the HF Store in Dillon SC where the counter persons remember me as a guy who used to buy a shopping cart full of stuff each time I stopped and noticed I was only purchasing 1 item. Got to use 4 free stuff coupons and 2 of the 20% off coupons and walked out with a shopping cart full of stuff too. Lots of good clearance items and the $1 sale items were in stock. Loyality goes both ways these days even if not remembered at the HF Corporate Level

BTW I would beware the wood magazine coupons, they're often inferior to just using a 20% on the item you want.

LOL, right after I posted this someone from a number I didn't recognize called me..on a Sunday morning here... and said, hi, this is Susy Q. from Harbor Freight Tools...

I thought, oh, shit, the game is up. Should not have posted that rope coupon. They're on to me.

Nope, she wanted to tell me that a raincheck was in. One I'd already picked up months ago. This is the first time they've ever called me on one, too.

EEK!EEK! I have never,.. EVER had a harbor freight rain check call or mail me that the item was in. We're talking over 10 years and probably close to 50 rain checks.

Thanks! I could have sworn I went through every link on this for 10 pages back to stuff that was months expired (since some of them have longer lifes) and somehow missed some of these.

I did find the $49 at the book store today too in a Fam Handyman, along with a couple other ok ones elsewhere, but looks like they're all posted up on here now!

Oh, also, anyone ever see the 40035 impact sockets with protective covers for a better deal than the ITC $24.99? They're on sale right now for $29.99 regardless, so after 20% can get them for $23.99 that way...

They ever go on sale for less than $29.99 w/o coupon?

Today's sunday paper is a regular plethora of HF coupons.

1 loose full page ad (both sides)
1 4 page add in the SmartSource coupons
1 page ad in the USA magazine (free voltmeter)

Really? Must be your local store - my store always calls when rain check items come in, even if it is a 99 cent item.

I also have never received a call for rain check items. On the other hand, my local store is very good about matching HF website pricing and also allows as many free item coupons as I have and for which I've met the minimum requirements (if applicable). I usually get 5 or 6 different free items whenever I visit. I've never had any trouble with printed coupons, either, though I try to avoid the ones that look like scans of newspaper ads. A month or so ago, none of my printed monthly ITC coupon bar codes would scan properly, but the check-out person(s) would just grumble a bit (not at me) and punch in the numbers. Of course I rarely spend less than $100 per trip and most of the staff know me by sight, if not by name.

I, too, have started going less often (from a couple time a week to once every couple of weeks) and buying less per trip. Some of that is because I've gotten most of the big-ticket stuff I need (for now), but part is because, as others have noted, the deals just don't seem as good as they once were (with some exceptions).

Remember they posted the ITC weekly early. That means they're almost certainly on vacation this week...so the new monthly won't get posted.

They almost always have a 25% off coupon on the holidays, I've never seen them not have one for thanksgiving, though the company has really been tightening down on the coupons, freebies, etc,. over the past year so anything is possible that they may not have it this year.
