I saw in the fine print that you can't use % off coupons on compressors. How did you get a coupon to work with it SOOOB?

and if you can afford it, this is a much better compressor

IMO well worth the under $100 investment just to have around, especially if you don't have any welder at all...

or if you are ordering online where the 'no purchase necessary coupons' generally don't work...

I can usually tell them the codes at my local HF and so long as they work in the system it's not a problem. YMMV of course

If you are talking visuals, I agree with the poster that spatter is awful with it. That's the nature of AC, and I also have gathered the rectifiers and caps to make it into DC and will try that.
All that being said, I used mine portably driven off my generator to weld up a whole bunch of custom dock support brackets. The welds did look absolutely terrible, part of that is my poor skill and the fact that I was really using it in an over-application. But in over ten years of a lot of abuse, I only ever had one of those welds fail, and that was due to me pounding on the bracket to get it to align after winter ice moved the post, so strong welding with it is doable for sure.
I liked the fact that I could run it off the generator in remote areas, which came in very handy for improvised jobs. It did run like 22 or so amps on 120VAC, which after an extended period would trip the 20A breaker on my generator, but its duty cycle is not supposed to be very long anyway at highest amperage setting.
Even though I have sworn at it due to the crummy feeder, I would say that price is way worth it.

I took a 12 v HF universal battery - ( the ones for a drill w/ the sub C in them. Hooked up 3 blues lights in Series and it's been going for the past 2 hours on the 124 LED setting. I even hooked up 4 blue lights at high and it still seemed really strong. But for some reason when I tried checking the Amps on the draw ( hooking up one probe on the + batter and the other on the last neg on the blue light and at 10 amp setting it was showing .11 I did it using AAA batteries in a stand alone blue light on high and it was .53
I don't quite understand your meter set-up. If one probe is on (+) of battery that would normally mean that the other probe lead is going to the (+) side of the lights. That is in series.
I've check a few of them and they all seemed to be in the 0.250A DC range. If you are using the free Harbor Freight meter, be aware that they can be sometimes crazy inaccurate, but that seems to be mostly on VAC. Like they can be good, or way, way off. As in so bad to be as useful as a neon troubleshooting light and not much more.

I don't even see soldering chisel tips on the website.
Really miss old-school Radio Shack.

I ended up getting this 21Gal compressor for $150. Killer deal considering the small 6-8gal compressors are almost the same price! I broke it in and filled up the tank. Hasn't leaked a single PSI over a few days which is awesome. Didn't have to undo and seal any of the fittings. Love everything about it.
My only complaint is it's freaking loud compared to my small old 6gal compressor. Is there any way to reduce this noise? I was thinking of trying to make some sort of noise baffle to stick over the motor (without restricting airflow). Anybody do this before?
And lastly, how often do you guys change your oil in your compressors? The manual says after the first hour of use and every 6 months after that. That seems very excessive to me...
