Somebody posted about a Schwinn road bike on clearance at Target but I was looking for more of a hybrid bike and came across a couple of clearance hybrids at my local Target. Bought a men's for myself and the women's for my wife. I got the last men's at my store but they had 2 more women's on the floor. YMMV as most stores in my area show OOS or not discounted to 70% yet. Isn't 28" overkill for a road bike? From the guides I've read online, an average person needs a 17-19" bike.

Show "More" on target site says 28" refers to wheel size, i.e. 700c , and frame size is 20"

Yes, for the frame size 17-19 is average but I believe this 28 inches refers to the wheel diameter

I got a 28" hybrid bike and it's pretty tall. I am 6'0" and I only raised the seat like 2 inches and I have longer legs than most. (I am a guy FYI) so if you're shorter go shorter. Plus the 28" refers to the wheel size and it's a bit bigger because the tires are smaller.

The back wheel is 28". The frame is 20". Not sure why they have it listed as 28"

28" is the wheel size not the bike size. 17-19" you mention is a medium to large bike and yes it's a pretty average size. That's what I use. Wheel size range from 26-29"

I got the last one in northern Utah last night. It was marked at $110 but the girl gave it to me for $62.50 bc I asked. I was ecstatic.
