I have the GS65. Remember to undervolt the CPU to increase battery life and improve performance. Undervolting to increase performance initially did not make sense to me since I always overclock or increase voltage to do that. There's a lot of thermal throttling and most of the power is just wasted going to heat. My benchmark scores did increase after undervolting.
For anyone wondering if they could price match this with a local store, good luck because the (-047) is what MS store has, while many stores (both local and online) now have the (-05X).
I tried matching with Best Buy and the first online chat employee pointed the model # difference. So I closed chat & tried looking elsewhere for a bit before retrying with another employee. I did not notice this model # difference at first and thought the model # just meant a newer production date or something since everything seemed the same.
I checked again with another online employee and told him there was no noticeable differences once he had told me the same thing. He took another minute to verify and found there were no differences and helped me place an order. Great! I can return it easily with no shipping fees now if I have a problem with it!
It was then right after I found out the -05X has a 512gb SSD 🙃
Edit: they sold out now on best buy. probably cause others did this or they noticed it's not the same exact model number.

again does anyone can compare this one to last razer blade 15 1070mq 512g?https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p...verviewtab
GS65 was my dream laptop before, meet my requirement: thin light ssd i7+dedicated video card. And I understand the razer one has 512gb and 1070, will be more powerful than GS65. But $400 less makes everything considerable.

Both laptops will end up throttling the CPU to maintain temps. This means lower TDP and clock speeds than expected. Razer will have better graphic performance, build quality, storage size and easier to work on. You have to decide if that is worth 33% more than MSI to get those benefits.
Wow... I bought this last year and it was only discounted $100 off msrp. I do regret getting it just an fyi. I did add another SSD since it has 2 slots. The cpu throttles playing The Witcher 3.
I really dig these high powered windows machines coming down in price but I can't ditch my MBP until these screens have better color accuracy and at least resolution comparable to retina. I hope the creators and photos editors will have some decent options soon, I really want to ditch Apple due to weak GPU options for 3D rendering/animation but I just can't go back to 1080p.
Here before FP. Dave 2D's recommended laptop (specifically last gen gfx as there is not much loss in performance compared to current gen). This is the one to get if you are in the market for a powerful but thin and light laptop. Lowest price ever?
