Tesla has brought back free Lifetime Supercharging for their inventory Model S and Model X cars.

To be clear you would have to order a car which is available in inventory.
They are trying to clear out old models to sell their new upgraded drive train.

No, they're trying to sell cars with their older less efficient drive train which is why they're giving you free SC access. IOW please take our older, less powerful and efficient cars but we'll throw in free SC access.

Nothing wrong with that mind you, just not properly phrased Big Grin

Only people I can think that would jump on this are the type that travel a lot of long distances and can see a lot of value in the free SC.

Yes its really worthy for people who travel lot, particularly with gas prices here in California are $4.2 to $4.5.

FWIW, I no longer think Free Lifetime Supercharging (FLS) is worth as much as I used to. I used to think it was worth enough that I bought both of my Tesla's (S75D and X100D) with Free Lifetime Supercharging. In fact, I placed the order for the X the day last September when FLS was going away.

My S now has 35K miles in 2 years - that is, we use it for a boatload of road trips. According to TeslaFi (a stats gathering website), I've put nearly 3500kWh into my car via SuperCharging, for about
11000 miles. That would have cost me $650 if I didn't have FLS.

While not paying to charge is nice, I don't think it's as much a deciding factor on purchasing the car.

A series S Tesla for family trips..what a farking joke ...what do you have as luggage? A fanny pack and a men purse? I put 36k miles in 18 months on my expedition too but a family road trip is a family road trip not a cramped pull your chair in front kind of trip

You guys are trying to justify the insane price you paid for a car that is meant just for short daily commute

rent the car, drive it around and then talk about it. They are pretty good long trip cars

Tesla's not going anywhere anytime soon. They've been in dire situations plenty of times (especially at the beginning), and still pulled through. Even *if* they didn't make it for some reason, Elon will always be the one to thank for the resurgence of interest in EV's... which the major manufacturer's are starting to put more eggs in this basket. So we all win, even if Tesla loses.
