Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.
Seems like a pretty good deal for AT&T network:
$50/mo. but $40 with autopay:
- UNL Talk & Text
- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
- Hotspot included
- Mexico and Canada roaming included
2 lines would be $70, 3 lines would be $100, 4 lines would be $120, and 5 lines would be $140.
Looks like this deal is only at Walmart - everywhere else has 16GB data offer and it requires autopay. This offer looks like it doesn't require auto-pay.

Still have bonus data?
The ATT website says the bonus data is good as long as you stay on the $50 plan and renew each month. Auto-pay or not. I'll see what happens at the end of the month. I don't think there will be any problems. It's pretty much a given that people will upgrade phones eventually, or need to replace a SIM due to damage or loss. I think the system only validates these promos at the time of activation, and doesn't care what you do after that point.
$300 plan pros
$300 plan cons
$40 plan pros
$40 plan cons
I have been on VZW prepaid for about a year and never use over 8gb, just do not know if that pattern will change - and if I remember VZW rollover (older plan) is better than ATT, whereas Verizon buckets it all together and ATT uses rollover last so it doesnt carry over a 2nd time - this makes a big difference
Other than that I dunno which is better ...I chose this for multi line discount and more data
Question..... Can I use one T-mobile 10$ signup to port both numbers 1 at a time?

I am curious since at renewal you were not using the walmart phone anymore
Did anyone got his plan renewed while using a different phone than the walmart one and still got the 17GB bonus within 3 days like they say?
6/11 bought Alcatel phone online and picked up at store
6/12 activated phone thru walmart link, got a new number (321 area code) and paid for first month (chose autopay and was charged $40 + tax). left sim on Alcatel phone.
6/17 8gb + 17gb bonus showed up on account, switched SIM from burner phone to iphone.
6/28 switched SIM back to burner phone, made some calls, then called ATT porting number, initiated port in from GV (407 area code), was told to call again after 48 hours to finish process
6/30 called again, an automated message said that porting should be complete on 7/01 at 10:59 am, so I hung up.
7/01 called again at 1400hrs, first CSR transferred me to ATT prepaid side, second CSR confirmed number was ready to port, went through the process. Rebooted burner phone and ported number is now there. I tried logging in to ATT account using old number, no go. Tried using ported number, created new password and pin, and 25gb is still there, with the same usage I had with the old number, same renewal date as well. 😁

Does anyone know how to escalate the issue, is there an email address I can contact. They didn't seem to be very helpful on the phone. If not I will just try calling again and see if I get someone else that can help. I don't want to wait until after the return period to know if this thing worked or if they will have another excuse.
Thoughts?
If others got away with $40 for the first month (short of promotional discounts) please speak up.

The key is this will be my first account. So I get the sim and phone from Walmart, I take the sim and go online to activate phone - still not clear what I do - your situation may be different because you had an account already. Not sure the options that will be presented to me but I am guessing it will require the $50 charge prior to activating autopay and being able to add refills
