I have the 5000 model purchased from Costco on sale for $1K several months ago. I Couldn't be happier.

With that said if I was strictly looking at how long it would take to pay for itself by doing my own oil changes and brake services then I would not have purchased the Quickjack as I would struggle to justify it. I do use it for oil changes, brakes and other routine services and the quickjack just can't be beat unless you have the ability to install a regular 2 or 4 post lift.

Where the Quickjack really pays off is when I am doing something and I need to get all four wheels off the ground. I can do it in about 3 or 4 minutes with the Quickjack where jacking the car one corner at a time takes me a good 30 minutes. Also, when I have the vehicle on the Quickjack I can raise and lower the vehicle in just a matter of seconds to make it easier to work from underneath or from above. I feel as if the vehicle on the QuickJack is much more stable than on jackstands and I have no hesitation getting under the vehicle when the Quickjack is in its locked position.

I recently had to replace the electronic water pump in my BMW 335i and the Quickjack simply made getting the car up in the air so much easier and higher than I could have using 4 jack stands. For those that are on the fence and can afford it you won't be disappointed.
It uses the frame rails like most shop lifts. It fully unloads the suspension.
Ya, one thing that's ultra nice though is for dad garages. I do all my own work, but I've got the open bay where I keep my car about 20" from the wall and crap all around. It's a huge pain in the rear with a 4 foot jack handle trying to get the thing in the air.

I've been watching these for a while and this is an excellent price - lower than the "garage sale" used / refurb pricing on the Quickjack site excluding taxes. Besides making oil changes easier on low-slung cars a Miata, it'll pay for itself when it's time to swap a clutch. Bonus points for ease of suspension work, brakes, and tire rotations where the jack and jackstand process is a pain in the rear.

If you don't need the 7K capacity, quickjack does have the 5k version available open box for under 1K or, if you don't mind the scuffs but appreciate that the unit you buy received personal attention, a refurb for under $900 with free shipping and no tax in most states.
A clutch swap on our Miata required much of our time coming in from the sides, which you'd not be able to do (safely, or easily) with this device. Plus, at least in my case, with the hours we had the thing up in the air, the half-hour it took to get the car on 4 jack stands (yes, low car, like another poster discussed), that time wasn't that bad. But with brake jobs, oil changes, etc. I definitely see getting money back out of this in saved time and money.

It seems many people cut out a square in the floor, dig some more, and fill to a required depth with a required type of concrete. This adds to the overall cost, but not excessively.
Had a friend suggest this. When I was shopping I found a two post at about OP price point. I've used a hammer drill to remove concrete once. Never again. Plus my property is on solid clay. They'd probably need to dig mine all out and use a backhoe to go deeper.

Anxiously waiting for my HF lift to arrive.

Thanks for this info, what year Odyssey have you tried? Though, I'm sure the length can't vary too much year to year. This is one vehicle that I would get this for.
Mine is 2011. Did not try in person, just measured the length with the specs, since I'm trying to justify a set of jacks myself. If I recall correctly, this thing is still too short by just a few inches:

It should however fit most anything else, including a Mini Smilie

So how many oil chnage brake service or other home doable car service before this pays for itself?
Shops around me are all charging at least $100 an hour. Then they gouge you on the parts cost.
So a day's worth of service is the break even point.

Budget tip for skinny garages - scissor jack, impact wrench w/ 24mm socket. jack stands
If you do that, keep the worm gear well greased. The jack can otherwise overheat.

would love to buy this but not sure if it will fit under a mustang dropped 1 inch. Low profile floor jack works fine but can't seem to get a measurement to see if the quick jack fully flat will slide under a dropped car???

I'm guessing if you need to ask if this will pay for itself you probably don't need one. Around here they are getting $50 labor to do oil changes. That's just oil changes, what about brakes? Detailing? Misc? What about all the free beer your buddies would bring you to come over and change their oil at your place?
No doubt if you do your own maintenance and repairs this thing is like any other tool. It's a force multiplier and makes work easier. (Do you need stubby wrenches? No, but damn they are nice when space is limited)
I'd jump on this but waiting to build my shop and I'll go with a post lift.

I have a stack of 2x10's in the garage with a 45 degree cut at one end. (Different lengths) I use them when I'm dealing with low cars. Drive up on 1 and gain 1.5 inches clearance, stack them as needed.
I use them when pulling low cars up on the trailer too

Can Mods update the post title?
The BL-7000SLX is not the only unit on sale.
The BL-5000SLX is also on sale for $1025 shipped, I just placed my order.

The 5000 is slightly lower in rating but also significantly lighter making it more portable.
The 5000 has a video of it lifting three times it's rated weight by the manufacturer on youtube. It might not be recommended, but, we all have our comfort levels around safety.

I saved myself a few bucks and made my life a little easier by ordering the 5000.

The front page deal post should be updated to include both.

I wish they'd design something like this to have alternate uses, like lifting a motorcycle (you know instead of having to buy a lift plate) Then this would be mad dope.

You don't buy this for it to pay for itself, you buy it for the convenience.
It DOES pay for itself if you change your own differential/transmission fluids. If you do it for two cars you're even.

Want to pull the trigger on the 5000 lb for $1025, but wanted to see if 15% off in store coupon will work. It's not slick that I have to buy one on ebay for $30, but if I save $150 that covers the coupon. Anyone try to buy this in store with a coupon?
Did you try yet?

Id love one of these. I do ton of work on cars. there are no locking pins, That kind of scares me. the arm just sits on a dowel in that metal track.
