Q: How many band pass filters are available on the DX101D?

A: I don't know. Dontknow

The English language User Manual Reading on page 15 http://www.gianora-hsu.ch/files/p...04D-BS.pdf

Quote :
BPF (Band Pass Filter)
BPF is selected automatically. When a frequency band is selected
on the front panel, the BPF (Band Pass Filter) for that band is auto-
matically connected to the antenna circuit.
Since there are twelve frequency band selections the correct answer is twelve. But there is
no 12 answer offered.

So what else might they be calling a band pass filter?

The English language User Manual Reading on page 84 http://www.gianora-hsu.ch/files/p...04D-BS.pdf

Quote :
TX BPF SEL
Function: Selects the audio passband of the DSP
modulator on the SSB mode.
Available Values: 50-3050 / 100-2900 / 200-2800/
300-2700 / 400-2600 (Hz)
Default Setting: 300-2700 Hz
So there are five audio band pass filters and five is one of the selections. So I pick five and they mark it wrong. So I don't know what they are calling a band pass filter or which ones they are counting.

In the interest of experimentation, I tried picking 10. That's also wrong. Thus far we have:
Answer: NOT 5 and NOT 10. Now you have a 50-50 chance.

This morning they say 15. Where they get that, I dunno Dontknow
In the user manual they only thing there is 15 of is Digital Noise Reduction re-
sponse levels. Maybe they take the 12 band pass filters and add the three roofing filters to it to get 15. I'm not going to fret about it. One wrong answer in a contest running this long isn't going to matter.

Q: What lightweight stereo headphone is available for the DX101D?

A: YH-77STA

Entry page https://www.gigaparts.net/sweepstakes/

On Gigaparts 'Must Have Accessories' for the DX101D Readinghttps://www.gigaparts.com/yaesu-f...eiver.html

Of course you must have stereo headphones in order to receive morse code in stereo as we've discussed earlier and to be able to receive both lower and upper sideband signals with lower sideband signals going to the left ear and upper sideband signals going to the right ear. If you are a south paw you have to put the headphones on backwards so that the lower sideband signals can go to the right ear.

I thought the stereo was so that you could hear upper-case Morse in the left ear and lower-case Morse in the rightl

Q: How many RCA Plugs are provided with the DX101D?

A: 2

Entry page https://www.gigaparts.net/sweepstakes/

The Gigaparts page just says RCA Plug. https://www.gigaparts.com/yaesu-f...eiver.html

The English language User Manual on page 8 http://www.gianora-hsu.ch/files/p...04D-BS.pdf just says RCA Plug but the illustration shows two.

So it could be one or two. This Dealer page says under Supplied accessories 2 x RCA plugs. http://www.andrewscom.com.au/site...-yaesu.htm

So I entered two and was right. Then I realized that I misread the dealer page and had read the supplied accessories for a different model, the FTDX-5000MP. But by luck I got the right answer anyway.

Q:What is the SSB Carrier Suppression on the DX101D?

A: At least 60 dB below peak output

Careful! The answer "at least 60 dB below peak output" appears twice as the third and fourth choice. . It's likely if you choose the wrong one you will be marked wrong. I picked the third from the top and it was marked right. They've made this kind of mistake before.

Aargh!! By the time I got there, the fourth choice had been changed to 70 dB. I was thinking about posting it here - and so, of course, reflexively clicked it. Oops.
