Link is to store locator- deal is B&M only. It is NOT on their website.

I found this at a Dollar Tree in NJ at the checkout counter. There are two "always on" outlets and one master that controls 4 others. When there is no power going to the master, the other 4 are shut off. Many modern TVs still draw power when turned off, which may be a good or bad thing for you.

New here. Don't fully understand

1. What does B&M signify here?
2. It's not UL Listed, but it is listed by ETL Intertek. Is that not reliable?
3. I bought several of these at a Dollar Tree in NJ, but am having trouble fitting plugs into its outlets. They go in part way and then stop. Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot!

1. Brick & Mortar, a physical store.
2. "ETL is currently a division of Intertek Testing Laboratories. Intertek ETL is, like UL, an OSHA recognized NRTL. Unlike UL, ETL does not publish their own standards; instead, they test parts and components to the published standards of other NRTLs, including ASME, ASTM, and, of course, UL." Seems reliable. I took one of mine apart. It's rather unremarkable, constructed very similar to any other budget power strip. Thin brass busbars with the copper wires spot-welded to them.
3. Push harder. The 3 I have, plugs go all the way if you push hard enough.

I don't like the 30-second power off delay of the slave devices. I don't suppose anyone knows a way to hack out the delay?
Otherwise, they're working pretty good to power off my audio equipment with my receiver which doesn't have any switched outlets.

It's also not a good deal.

EDIT: LMAO It also advertises that it "saves money" and it rates its protection in joules instead of surge current rating. And not only is it not UL listed, it's not even ETL listed. This is a great deal if you want to give your local fire department something to do.
You should realize joules is the correct metric for surge protection ratings, not surge current.
It's the amount of energy that can be absorbed, and current is not a measure of energy, joules is.
1200 joules is the specified maximum surge energy.
Comments about this being a fire hazard are simply based on the incredible price, and not from actual experience with one.

It's rather unfortunate assumptions some people are making about this power strip. My Dollar Tree just got these so I bought a few and the are built much better than the $15 and below UL listed power strips I have. The board has a good deal of components and without a doubt offers more protection and better quality contacts than the cheap ge UL listed ones I own. It even has a bit of power filtering and suppression that is completely missing from my ge and other cheap ul listed strips. Looking at the components it's hard to understand how these can go for $1. The only thing I am not a fan of is how the wires are attached to the bus bars. The appear to be spot welded on and I personally think that is a bad idea with stranded cable. With that said I have seen much worse for much more. I will be soldering mine but given the price I don't see it becoming an issue for anyone unless they are rough with their stuff. In that case I can see the weld breaking after a lot of things going in and out. I really like the master and slave sections as well. I just recommend an owner to read the manual. It has three settings for activating the slave outlets. In low it only takes the device in the master outlet to draw 8watts to activate the slave plugs while medium requires 20watts and high requires 40watts. Some small tvs and monitors may require the low setting to turn on the slave outlets. Keeping that in mind I haven't had an issue and I really enjoy the sound of the relays clicking over. Lol

I had some need for the power strip without a device drawing enough power to actuate the switch circuit, so I added a 7.15k ohm resistor to bias the transistor and have it turn on a few seconds after I turn on the power strip. You still get to hear the click of the relay but don't need the load on the master outlet.
