Got one thanks. Installation is included and I was able to schedule an appointment. The BestBuy website clearly says "Installation Included" right at the top for me.
This is probably key. I also used the website. I can confirm that I have a "Geed Squad Remote Start Installation with T-Harness" (SKU 1506273) in my order details at a cost of $0.00
Leave it on defrost the night before

This is a really hot deal if you are a Best Buy Total Tech Support Member. Came out to $100 for me, installed. There was also the option to add a "Ball Bearing Tilt Switch" for free, so I did that as well. No idea if I need one or what it does, but free is free.
Sweet deal man! Really sweet seeing as how Total Tech Support is $199/year, and you just saved $150 off this one purchase alone! The ball bearing tilt switch is installed under the hood and is used to tell the remote start system that the hood is opened or closed. The remote start system should not work if the hood is opened (for safety reasons). The Compustar box comes with a small pin switch that is normally used for this purpose. But pin switches can be difficult to install in some vehicles and they also rust. So it's possible for the pin switch to get rusted in the down position, you open the hood, lean in and accidently push the remote start button with the keys in your pocket, the engine fires off and chops a finger off in the belt. For that reason, tilt switches are preferred. Easier to install and they're a sealed piece that does not rust.

Side note: A single drop of mercury floating between two contact points used to be used for this purpose back in the day. Until we all realized just how hazardous mercury can be.EEK!

Hey! I have a 2014 Mazda 3 with keyless entry and push button. If I order this, will I be able to use just this FOB and store my original?
No. Any push-button start vehicle will require that you carry the OEM fob to drive. Otherwise, any thief could just hop in your started car and drive away.

I'm not an expert like firebirddude, Mickey, jmeitz etc (forgive me if I missed you) and some solutions have already been mentioned, but to some them up and offer another:
1. Have the installer program the OEM 3x press start trick, or
2. Purchase a dumb blank with a programmable transponder and have it cut and programmed. There's a market for this for those who like to have a spare key around that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars if lost. This would be thinner than the OEM and you could just keep the OEM at home as a backup.
3. Use DroneMobile

#2 assumes non-push-button. Of course, check with your installer to determine your car's capabilities (and their own) or one of these other guys at least. None of those are mutually exclusive, but you do have to take into account the extra cost to purchase the blank and have it cut (and programmed if your car doesn't support self-programming) and the extra cost of drone mobile. Which is much better than it used to be BTW, but still flakey enough for me to always want a backup solution.
Just a side note. If you have a Toyota and need another key ( maybe you lost one) you can buy a key from ebay get it cut and program it your self with a program called TECHSTREAM . You can buy it on eBay for around 20. Google Techstream for more info.

And just to tack onto that, on newer model Fords, you can program your own keys if you have two OEM keys also. You'll have to Google the process as its been too long for me. But I've personally done it.

Not sure if this was a joke or not. But if you add-on the Drone hardware and service to this, yes, it does.

This should be manual transmission compatible. What am I missing because when I see the manual for install it shows the loop to be cut for choosing auto/manual transmission.

Good to know. When I got my 2011 rav4 it only came with 1 key and the Dealer wanted 260 for another key. I got the keyfob and techstream program and cable on eBay for around 50. You can do many other things with the Techstream program. Every Toyota owner should have it.

Just got this for $295, they charged $20 for the Harness Kit, not sure what this really is....

Has anyone had any trouble getting them to also program the OEM Key (3x lock press) to remote start the car?

I want them to do this, but hoping it's no extra charge for them to program this.

Some decent advice. But please be aware for #2. If the batteries in your Compustar fob died, you wouldn't be able to unlock the doors without an OEM blade key to stick in the door and manually unlock them. Could possibly be a couple rare situations that would cause a problem. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding you?

Not starting, last time I checked.

Actually, not at all last time I checked. I haven't been able to log in since their last big system update where you had to reset your password 😢

Alexa, Siri and G-Home will be re-released by the 2nd week of October. For now, they will not work with Drone.

A little. I was actually offering advice for a slimmer key to carry vs OEM. You might be thinking I meant having the installer leave the dumb(er) blade key in the car? Sorry, I was unnecessarily confusing by adding the bit about people getting "spares" made.
I thought about suggesting that but I didn't feel qualified enough to list all the problems that I'm sure would come up.

To much liability for a company as they would need to install a relay for clutch bypass. Back in the day I would install a closed circuit sensor at the shifter that would only allow the vehicle to start when in neutral.

Not for remote start, no. Never has had that ability to my knowledge. Too afraid of people starting on accident in their closed garage.

But if nothing is working... they must be having issues of some kind. It's suppose to.laugh out loud

I have a honda crv 2012 . Was thinking of getting a remote start system for a couple years now as its especially useful in the winter. Is this going to be a good solution for me? I don't have too much time to get into the various competitors offerings because this deal ends today. Seems like this coming with the installation included is what makes it slick. Thanks for any thoughts!
