The Barista Express allows you to grind the beans right before extraction, and its interchangeable filters and a choice of automatic or manual operation ensure authentic café style results.
This offer beats our previous front page deal by $44. Offer valid while supplies last. ~ persian__mafia
FYI I've had 2 of these. They're fantastic, but if you ever need warranty support the first thing they'll ask you is "where did you buy it" and if your answer is eBay or some store they think discounts too highly, they'll not honor the warranty.
I bought them from Overstock.com. They asked where I bought it and I said "Overstock.com". They said, "how much did you pay for it?" I said "I think it was about $500" (it was like $415 actually). "Ok. We cover that then."
I've seen other reports of this (specifically if you purchased on Ebay) so just be aware of that and maybe buy with Amex while you still can get the warranty benefit.

Seems to be a good deal based on old posts. This is my second post, I'll accept any pointers on how to make quality posts. (I'm also doing it from the mobile app)
Wow, I bought a refurb on Woot a couple years ago. I think it was $350. It is still working great with daily use. I LOVE THIS FREAKING THING!!! I am really tempted to buy another new one at this price, for the eventual day when my refurb craps out on me. TWO THUMBS UP! Cheapest I have ever seen new units.
Lifestyle By Focus is selling the Breville BES870XL Barista Express Espresso Machine through their eBay page for $399.99. There is a recent SlickDeal where the same seller was selling on Google for $444.

That's great to hear. How often do you clean and maintain the machine? What grind do you use? I know there is a lot of variables just curious.. I'm finally ready to take the plunge in purchasing one.
My local coffee shop makes my cappuccinos wrong 80% of the time. Having to send drinks back to be remade gets old real quick. Even when they remake it's still usually made wrong. The steamed milk is burnt with tons of airy bubbles and the espresso is also bitter.
In 6 months time the machine will pay for itself. The only thing I want is to buy or make a naked portafilter.
