Kobalt 24-Volt Max 6-Tool Brushless Power Tool Combo Kit with Soft Case - $299

While not as cheap as the other combo kits on the FP right now at $250, this one has some unique perks, including a nice wheeled carrying case. Not a bad option for those who scored the $99 miter saw deal recently. Although not indicated on Lowe's site, I believe the regular price is $399 on this kit as I had to have Lowe's price-match another Lowe's store.

The Kobalt 24-Volt Max brushless combo kit comes with 6 essential tools to help you complete a wide range of projects. The kit comes complete with a drill driver, impact driver, circular saw, one-handed reciprocating saw, multi-tool, and an LED flashlight. But no kit is complete without the essentials – a 2.0-Ah battery, 4.0-Ah battery, and standard 45 watt charger are also included.

Tempting deal but Kobalt needs to add a nail gun to their line up, really missing. They seem to have everything else.

I cannot comment on the value of this bundle, as I don't know the historical sale price, but I did buy it.

The tools feel solid. I use Milwaukee and Makita at work...
These feel just as capable. Love the warranty and battery price. Solid tools IMHO

This is well worth the price. I've been using these tools daily for almost a year now.

I scored the BF deal and was wondering about possibly getting a price match. I've read somewhere they wouldn't PM bundled deals.

I previously posted this price change on a tool place and a few people said they were able to have it done. Just bring your receipt. But I guess it could be store dependant

They have a screw gun coming early next year. Last update was 20 new tools to the lineup next year, hopefully a nail gun too..

It worked! My local store matched the $299 price without hassle.

I have most of these tools except the Multi-tool. The flash light is decent and the battery lasts a long time - though the newer Ryobi one I got puts this to shame. The Drill ( I have 3 of these ) is my favorite and I use the impact driver occasionally. The circular saw is completely gutless and the one-handed reciprocating saw can cut carrots and cucumbers very well. The Tools not included in this one are the 1/2 impact - a very very useful tool for < $100, very light weight and you can keep one in your car and the real reciprocating saw - which is somewhat better than the one on this set. The Batteries are pricier now and gone are the days when the 2 x 1.5Ah deals that sold for $16 last Dec. Lastly - most of these tools have a 5Yr Warranty - but expect Lowes ( with their new nasty CEO ) to not honor the warranty in store and they will make any excuse and you may have to mail it in for warranty exchange.

I got the Black Friday deal with the "free" miter saw. I went in today to see if they'd adjust the price of the set down to $299 and they did it. Now that is a slick deal!

because you have experience with Ryobi, if you have to chose which system would you invest into?

Kobalt for Sure, assuming I was doing this a few years back. But lately it almost seems like Lowes is surely trying to kill off Kobalt, and the warranty coverage is not so great. If you are starting new - better to stick with Ryobi - as it will be a persisting brand and easier warranty coverage with HD. The only reason I continue to buy Kobalt is because I already have several K worth invested and a few more tools/batteries might be worth investing in. Also there is a stark difference in quality between 5-8 years ago and recent Kobalt builds - which most likely is sourced from B&D itself or a common supplier. Also the newer 20v Craftsman line of tools are remarkably similar in look/feel and build to the Kobalts - another indication the replacements are already in.
