BTW, these would be a little large but will fit the Walmart Motile 14" laptops that's been making waves on SD the past couple weeks.
I bought one of the convertible ones last time it was $15 (and Frontpage) August 2018 and it's been holding up well for a work-to-weekend, office-to-coffee-shop style daily driver (it converts from briefcase/shoulder bag to slim backpack, but is a briefcase first).
It's lighter than most briefcase laptop bags I've handled but the outer material is still pretty durable while looking pretty classy-casual, vs. the much more common black nylon canvas or black pleather cases that show up <$15. The laptop pocket is padded with a velcro retaining strap, and the rest of the compartment outside of the laptop pocket has room for some file folders or a textbook, or a tablet. The two outside compartments aren't pockets, they're roomier and more like mini-cases on the outside, plenty of room for cables and battery packs without straining and bulging, or a couple sandwiches or water bottles.
I've also had other Solo branded bags, they're all decently made.
