For those who has a pet smart near you, you can always just bring a sample of water to the store for them to test it for free.

That seems a lot less convenient than being able to do it myself, but if you're going there anyway that's probably not very inconvenient.

They have more comprehensive tests than this tester can do, plus they have "professional" to tell you what's wrong with your tank water and tell you what you need. I'd like to have real human conversation than googling lol.

You have a very different PetSmart than my local one. Friendly, sure. Professional aquarists, not so much.

If using this phosphate kit for testing a saltwater pool, do you need to use the color card for saltwater? I've never seen a phosphate kit for pools that had different readings for salt vs. chlorine...
