It's been cheaper , if you factor in the rewards points.

True, but a lot of people don't consider/value the Rakuten points (I personally love them). This is the lowest selling price I've seen.

With the Rakuten points, it effectively makes it < $500, which is a great price for those specs.

What do you love about them? I have 50,000+ that I havent been able to find any use for for almost 2 months now. Everything seems over priced and nothing is coming up on slickdeals. And my points are expiring in 10 days. Any thoughts on anything creative I could spend them on to offload them?

50,000? If you averaged 10x points on purchases, you've spent $5K on Rakuten...so how are you having trouble using your points?

I routinely see things in email, especially when there are sales on consumables.
I'm assuming you're watching the deals page - https://www.rakuten.com/shop/deals/
And this page - https://www.rakuten.com/shop/even...e-rewards/

I'm buying these with points and getting more points. They're $20 cheaper than any place when you factor in the 20% in points.

People also foolishly double count the value of such points which is primarily why such rewards exist (in addition to increasing repeat business) It makes the initial purchase seem cheaper by counting those points and then when they spend the points later, they again count them as decreasing the price to convince themselves to buy the second item or expiring points make them buy at not so great prices.

Not all are like that, but people, in general, are not always math savvy. Marketeers know this.

I much prefer a straight discounted price without these gimmicks and tie-in to a merchant for future business. So far, I have not found anything on Rakuten that could not be duplicated elsewhere especially if you consider the second purchase to use the points.

Thanks! Yeah it was actually on 1 purchase in December on a DJI drone that got back like 25% points & then an additional 15% points. Crazy sweet deal. So I've only shopped at Ratuken once.
