It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

How early are you guys calling in to loyalty department before your contract ends?

Or are you guys calling into loyalty department after your promotion ends?
My promotion ends this month, the loyalty rep gave me 30$ off and said the total would be the same as before($39.99) for the next year.

My current plan: 1000Mbps for $50 + $0 equipment fee
Tentative new plan: 100Mbps for $35 + $10 equipment fee

I'm on the fence about negotiating for a retention on the current plan v.s. signing up a new plan for the reward cards of $250 in total + $60 cashback.
Can you explain how you are getting $250 + $60? I just checked and all I see is $75 from cashback site and $100 from ATT.

Mine will end in mid April. I remember in the past I've always reached out to loyalty department before my promo ended and they were able to take care of me. This time when I called in, the rep told me that I need to call in a few weeks after my promo has ended, which didn't make any sense at all...

I'll call back tomorrow, considering you were were able to get an offer applied before your promo ended.

BTW, when you got $30, is it b/c you're bundled on other services?

TIA.

I have their wireless unlimited plan. I just called the loyalty dept and mentioned that I looking for any new offers to keep my internet plan at same price. The nicest rep just extended my current offer to 1 more year. No questions asked.

Got the same except I now have an additional $10 equipment fee that was waived the first 12 months but no longer.

call again few weeks later to see if they can waive the equipment fee. It's better to buy rather than paying 10$ each month. Same range router/modem would cost around 100$

AT&T doesn't offer a "bring your own" or "buy" option for Fiber, do they?

I know resellers like toast.net let you own the router (not sure about the ONT) which is exactly the same equipment but I wasn't aware that AT&T allows the use of it to waive the equipment fee.

Unless they recently changed, you have to use their gateway; you can put your modem after it. That way they keep that steady $120yr income. There was a time back in the DSL days that they would let you use/buy your own modem, but I haven't heard of it in the fiber era.

I started a separate thread with this YMMV deal for retention for current customers. I was able to call in today morning and extend the promotion. When I came to check on the details, I saw someone had already updated this thread yesterday with the retention deal. Glad that we are able to extend the offer for another year, but this time with no contract.

I was on $49.99 expired this month then it went up to 80.99 after the promo. I called and see if there is any promo, the guy check and offered me $39.99 no equipment fee. Of course I took it. NIce deal even lowered from $49.99 to $39.99. Smilie
