Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Just finish porting my phone#s. How did Sprint port the GV numbers without asking me for the PIN?
Quote from ifelseyesno :
They ported without my pin lol. Took them a day. Guess they dont need it because it's counted as a landline. If you have the pin you can call and get it done faster.
Quote from Woz2000 :
Yup, as long as you have it unlocked, it will port. The GV pin is 4 digits so it doesn't even match what they usually expect which is 6 digits.
I was told that GV doesn't use the PIN but the zip code to authenticate, and they use the zip code that you already provided during the order and the rest was random info.

for those who ported in from multiple sources (e.g. different accounts and pin numbers), did you run into many issues or it was smooth?
I used the ebay number, which are all different ( account numbers and pins) porting went smoothly.

Google Voice uses the PIN you set up for voicemail.

Ported from ATT and GV. When you place your order, you only enter the phone # and nothing else. They will call you to "correct" the info to port. See number 4 on the wiki.
In my case, the numbers that required porting info (acct #, and pin) said the info was incorrect I was able to correct them on the website. The GV #'s said to call the porting department.

I think you will have more troubles getting your account # to sign up for an online account, than porting. But both departments were equally bad for me Stick Out Tongue

I ported 5 lines from 3 different sources, Mint, Tracfone, Visible. They all went smoothly. You should be fine as long as you have all your account info (account# and PIN#) ready.

many?

Most of what I've read is to use the GV PIN.

You are the first I've heard who didn't provide PIN

Mine did not show either. But I had a chat with reps multiple times and they say it does not matter. As long as you are new customer and ported in, there is no reason to get rejected. I submitted after activation for promotion and even that one I received only 1 confirmation email. Not sure why i did not get it for others but I took a screenshot and it says pending obviously. I don't think it should be a problem.
Cool, thanks.

will sprint check for usage (or lack of?)
I know they did it with BYOD free plan.
The consensus is that a free unused line can be shut down so the carrier won't have to keep maintaining it, but a paying unused line is a cash cow, all revenue, no usage, they wouldn't want to shut it down.

Do your guys think if there will be issues for $300 gift cards, when they find two accounts ( rebates ) in the same address? ( different owner on the accounts) Is this something to worry about?

Was porting for each number done by a rep when you called or is it an automated process?
