so "basic dishwasher installation" means replacing an exsisting dishwasher or is that putting in a new dishwasher (into a kitchen that has never had a dishwasher)?

They will hook up to any existing install (in use or not), test, and haul away (if applicable).

I recently got this.....They came out, took a look and told me due to electrical running thru bottom of my existing "open bottom" dishwasher, they would be unable to install my new bosch dishwasher with the enclosed bottom. So....I called an electrician, he moved the power and I called them back. They came out....took a look and said great...$375 to install a new water hammer arrestor....required by city code since 2015, not included with the basic install.....I said just leave the dang thing and go. I installed it myself in a few hours after watching a youtube video.

I had pretty good experiences (fridge, water heater, garage door opener and dishwasher) with installation services provided by Lowe's.

During March end, Best Buy stopped installation services. At that time, Lowes did installation through third-party installers. I did not buy Bosch and I paid for installation.

Did you call Lowes Installation (1-866-678-2761) prior to purchase ? They might have stopped installation.

Got my Bosch 800 series installed by 3rd party contractor, he took my old unit out ($30 extra) and put the new one in. No issues at all and it's free via rebate.

How did you get the rebate by going through a 3rd party and not the Lowe's basic install during checkout (sku 105429, per the promo)?

[Edit] I think I misunderstood. Does this mean it was a 3rd party contractor hired by Lowe's instead of Lowe's doing it themselves?

Parents tried to get in on the free install since they had a Kitchenaid before. I can't remember exactly what stopped the installation but it was extremely minor. Overall, a bad experience. They hired a separate installer.
