Just remember to YouTube the build on these for tips. Most importantly make sure you clean and lube bearings appropriately as they are shipped in packing grease not suitable for road use.

not bad trailers. The electrical/taillights are (or at least were ~7yrs ago when I bought one) flaky, with a single wire relying on (I guess) the chassis for ground. Also, if you plan on storing it outside, do yourself a favor and give it a good coat of wax or some sort of UV protection occasionally, as mine and quite a few of them I've seen on craigslist or on the road turn from shiny red to matte pink after a few years in the sun.

It's a website where all the harbor freight coupons are cataloged in a easily searchable format. Also has a history so you can see price history on an item, allos user to add coupons and they update them every week or so it seems. It's hfqdb.com if you Google hfqdb it will pop up (harbor freight coupon database) not sure why it's a q for coupon.

They always have 20% off that last for a few months that are handy to screen shot before going in.

My Teske 4 x 8 woody cost $480 at Blaines Farm And Fleet a couple years ago. Much better quality and the sides included for a hundred more.
That trailer doesn't fold and currently costs >2x as much as the one in this deal. I mean, the generic "I got ______ for $_____ back in the year 20__, and it was a better deal then" comment shows up in literally every thread, but your comparison seems particularly off the mark, especially considering the deal was (in your words) years ago. Not sure what anyone is going to do with that information.

Let's get back to the important discussion of all the possible things qp could mean.
I always thought qp was just short for coupon. Sounds kind of like it to me at least!

Thanks OP

It's a great site, must be curated by someone with a lot of time and patience, LOL!!

The acronym is actually hfqpdb

In medicine, qp is "At will"

So, perhaps it's harbor freight at will database???

I checked to find the owner of that site, hfqpdb, and it's blocked ..... some website addresses have the information for who registered that address blocked.

So ...... we may never know what the qp in hfqpdb means Wink
Many, many moons ago, retailers would get cute and phonetically spell coupon as Q-Pon!

In that context, I would say that "Harbor Freight Q-pon database) is a real possibility.

For states that require License plates on trailers do these come with a title or will you have to register it as a home made trailer and get a plate that route?

Also, if that's the case any issues with registering it as home made since its clearly not lol? In Louisiana its required for State Police to inspect the trailer. I know some other states are super lax.

Could potentially see this as a great kayak Trailer.

Few months ago when the lighter duty trailer was on sale local store didn't have it and one of the store 50 miles out had it. Called first thing in the morning to get them to put my name on it due to stores only carrying one of these at a time. Turned out it was missing pieces so they sold me the heavy duty at the same $280 coupon price. Awesome little trailer.

Look into this, some states are PIA and expensive to register. CA is surprisedly very cheap to have one, my reg is $25 for 5 years. I had to bring harbor freight receipt to DMV and the paperwork with vin and they gave me a title without inspecting trailer.

Pretty sure the "qp" is short for coupon, the way some people pronounce it as "cue-pon".

Can someone please tell me why I have never had a good experience with anything I've purchased from harbor freight? Every single thing I've purchased from there has never compared to the quality of similar items that I've purchased from Lowe's/Home Depot. It almost seems like they source or manufacture the cheapest products they can.

The trailer comes with a packet that includes a bill of sale. This can be used to get a title. In North Carolina, the store has to take this to the license plate office for you to get it notarized and fill out some paperwork. You then need to go to the tag office to submit the paperwork and pay for a plate. I think it cost me $100 and around $20 a year for registration.

I bought my trailer right after the tire recall ended. The store manager let me use an expired coupon. He said their coupons never technically expire and they can honor them at their discretion. Pretty sure they're just happy to make a sale on a high dollar (for harbor freight at least) item.

The trailer itself works great for my needs. I would not hesitate to load it up with 1700 pounds. The lights are the only real negative and should be replaced if you use the trailer a lot. I've seen videos and posts about people welding the frame together because they felt it wasn't strong enough. This is a waste of time. Once you bolt a sheet of plywood down it is plenty sturdy for what it is rated to do.
