I can't speak for everyone but I can tell you of my nightmare with redpocket. I got the annual unlimited with 15GB data deal from eBay posted here on SD last year. I purchased 2 of them for my kids phones. It has been hell. Calls get dropped. Almost always bad voice connections. Sometimes can only make calls via WhatsApp. And that's not the worst of it. Even though, I have paid in advance for a full year.

Every single month they deactivate both lines for no reason. I have to call customer service every time to reactivate them. Matter of fact, I was on the phone for half an hour doing this yesterday. Even though they promised me that this would be fixed the last time. I told them the purpose of me giving my kids phones was for emergencies. I told them if shit went down and their phones were deactivated, would they take responsibility? I have been dealing with this crap for months. If I would have known this, I would have never purchased that damn deal. I really wanted for this to be worth it. But after all the troubles, I will look elsewhere when their time is up. Please beware of what you are about to get into. Best of luck.
90 days.
To save the eBay sale tax, please put the offer on RedPocket.com or for existing customer upgrade. Thanks

Would've be nice if they timed these with the eBay Bucks promos.

Is this good to get if I want to mostly use the data by creating a mobile hotspot with my phone? And if so, is GSM/AT&T or CDMA/Verizon usually better for hotspot usage?

How long do we have to activate it?

My current RedPocket Plan expires 8/20 (in 3 months). If I buy this, do it "add" onto the existing plan, or does it starts the new plan right away (ie I lose the remaining months on my old plan)?

It's hard to say. If you add it now, it may fark shit up, you won't lose the remaining days, but you'd have to ask their support to fix it. Add it a couple of days before the current plan expires. You won't lose the 2 days either.

Good idea. Thank you.

But this plan will work with my existing plan, right? A lot of the other deals (like the Tello deal from today) only works with NEW customers. Just want to double check!

Is this what you have now?

It works for renewals, just make sure to select the "Renewal / Existing" option when buying.

My current RedPocket plan is CDMAS. Can I get this deal with a new CDMA plan (for verizon), since I have a Pixel 3a? Can I just "add" the new Verizon plan to my existing Sprint plan (so keeping same number, phone, etc. just on a different network)?

I'm sure they can do it, but they'll have to port the number internally. Maybe ask them before buying but I'm pretty sure the response will be 'No problem, get in touch with us towards the end of your plan expiration to port the number and activate the new plan'

Nice to see the deal back. But I see tax in checkout now. I don't think they used to tax this. Am I crazy here?
