This seemed like a decent deal considering the president goes for $60. I read this is a step up from the President series and the biggest improvement is the sealed drag system that makes it ideal for saltwater fishing.

Some people say the size 35 is about equal to a normal size 25 reel, so they run smaller in size. I dont actually own one but read up on it a lot and seems like a great reel that I might buy.

The link below is a review of this reel and includes a chart for the different size reel and how much mono/braid line capacity each has.

Tempting! Been looking for another sealed spinning reel so I'm holding out for a Penn Spinfisher VI 2500.

This looks like a decent 'starter' reel though for those looking to get into fishing light inshore or surf/jetties. This would be a great reel especially for SoCal light line surf fishing. Pair it with an 8'6 or 9'6 rod rated 6-12 or 8-14 and you're good to go.

Good to know, I am not looking for another 'starter's reel as I already have one. Was looking for a more advanced for when I actually get better at fishing I have a reel ready, might look into that Penn Spinfisher VI as well
