I have the game on the Xbox One and the controls were so bad upon release it felt unplayable. My wife started playing it 2 months ago and you can tell they have put a lot of time into updating the games controls including adding support for keyboard and mouse for Xbox/PS4. Definitely not as refined as PC but at least its playable now.
My biggest gripe are the DLC. They are numerous, pricy, and some include features that should have been in the core game itself. Of course they keep my wife happy and the secret to a happy life is a happy wife so we've bought all of them.

Gameplay is using the joystick to move a computer mouse
This game is very clearly meant for the computer, they did not even try to bring this over to the xbox one. The gameplay itself is using the xbox joystick to move a mouse across the screen. Every important number is too small to read, as it seems like you should be 2 ft away from the computer monitor to be able to read the info. I even took the extra effort to plug my keyboard and mouse into my xbox one, and it became such a headache that I gave up. If you are going to put a game onto xbox one, you should AT LEAST try to make it suitable for consoles. ALL GAMEPLAY IS JUST USING THE XBOX JOYSTICK TO MOVE THE MOUSE, they didn't even try to map out the buttons for a controller. ----Aside from the HORRIBLE controles associated with the console verison, the game itself has LESS content than the Sims 3, and looks WORSE in graphics. I have played nearly every Sim game, console and PC alike, and I can say that this is by far one of the worst ones they have made. Do not waste your money.
I've played it. Yeah the controls aren't the best, but it's Sims! This game is not competitive, a few extra seconds and you'll figure them out eventually. I would definitely grab this if you have any interest.

If you buy this for X-Box can you also play it on the computer like other games? I know that I can for Microsoft games.
Have the same question. Page says Xbox One but then mentions access when logged into Microsoft account. Would like to purchase for my daughter to use on her PC
I tinkered with this game as a kid, now that I can actually build stuff, it's pretty neat to play with my 4y/o daughter and watch her gears turn on room design. I got the PC version for free, I wouldn't begin to imagine navigating the controls on a controller tho.
Tip...don't get a job, unless grinding is your thing. Build flower beds, scavange the neighborhood for high value flowers (roses), learn to splice cuttings, then sell the flowers. Hire a gardner to do all the tedious work.

Xbox one has native support for mouse and keyboard, just like windows 10. Once you plug both in the game switches to the same controls just like the pc.
With all of the free updates the game has received (they just added firefighters last week) it is pretty good to play now

So even with XB1X and a 4K tv, this game will have fuzzy text?
