This is an great price for this set. The batteries leave a bit to be desired, but still a great deal.

In case anyone is wondering, brushes in cordless tools create friction, can easier lead to burn out, and if you are a heavy user they will need to eventually be changed out. Brushless is basically a tech where they use magnets instead to eliminate the friction and ultimately has the side effect of being more durable in the long run and requiring less maintenance. They also can increase battery life by 30 to 40% as brushless tools pull less power to work. They are mostly not essential if you are just doing basic DIY stuff around the house. For example, I have a drill that I use maybe once a month or less at home and it has brushes and it is over a decade old and I've never needed to change them. I never even had to worry about battery draw because I had 2 large batteries.

These are basically professional grade tools and are very high end. Always remember when buying cordless tools the batteries of a brand are typically interchangeable in their family of tools so you are ultimately buying into that family.

This is a great deal considering many will easily pay $130 to 150 just for a brushless drill driver of any leading brand. To get the drill and driver with 2 batts for 2
160 for brushless is fantastic, just make sure you realize you are sort of committing to a family of tools buying into such a high end set. I personally think they are worth it, but they are overkill for most people when they can probably get a brushed set for $50 cheaper. These will last you decades though. These are the kind of power tools you can pass on to your kids one day and they will still work well.
I'll just say this: I have an old 18v Dewalt kit as well as a 12v Makita pair (and I've used a 12v Bosch set - including a brushless driver a LOT over the past 5 years) and in the 2ish years since I bought the Makitas I haven't once found I needed the power of the Dewalt stuff.

My point is: if you haven't used a 12v set, it might surprise you how much you can actually DO with them.

Yes, if I worked construction I'd own an 18v/20v set. But for most household things, 12v is more than sufficient. (And during my home construction I used the Bosch 12v drill quite a bit to drill through joists and/or 2x4/2x6's for low voltage wiring.)

I bought this during last deal with free reciprocating saw. I also had a Ryobi brushless drill and impact driver and I like this kit better than Ryobi. Just my 2c.

This is just under what I paid combined carefully shopping separately for the drill, batteries, charger, and impact. Stellar deal if you're in the market, and great tools.

Depends on what you need it for. 12V are not going to match the power of a 20V, but they're generally lighter and smaller so easier to use in tight spaces. However, this is their compact line of tools, so without knowing anything about your situation I'd probably suggest this DeWalt set.

Got this set a month ago. It's a great kit. One thing to note, the batteries that come with this set are 1.5 Ah. Think there was a typo on dewalt's marketing team or something.

these aren't all that different in performance from the older brushless dcd 777 and dcf 787 that are included in the $270 lowes kit (that kit also comes with a bag, 2 2ah batteries, brushless sander, osc. tool, light all for just $110 more than this kit)

What's this set different from drill/impact kit included in this kit?

According to the comment just above your question, not much is different. The ones you linked are the older versions of dewalts brushless 20v drill\driver combo

Sorry didn't check that comment. In terms of performance, would Atomic version excel compared to those older models (for DIY hobbyist)?

better, i believe so. these would be sufficient for 90% of homeowners. the XR line is the next step up, which is what a lot of professionals use (also what i have as a homeowner haha) keep buying the kits and selling what i dont need.
