The 2TB SanDisk Ultra SSD is available at Amazon [amazon.com] or B&H Photo [bhphotovideo.com] for $183.99. Not the best price ever, but the prices of SSDs have been annoyingly high this year.

Really low TBW endurance compared to Samsung and MX500 drives.

https://documents.westerndigital....ii-ssd.pdf

Sandisk Ultra 2TB = 500TBW Endurance 250 full writes to drive
Sandisk Ultra 4TB = 600TBW Endurance 150 full writes to drive

Samsung 860 QVO 2TB = 720TBW Endurance 360 full writes to drive
Samsung 860 QVO 4TB = 1440TBW Endurance 360 full writes to drive

Samsung 860 EVO 2TB = 1200TBW Endurance 600 full writes to drive
Samsung 860 EVO 4TB = 2400TBW Endurance 600 full writes to drive

MX500 2TB = 700TBW Endurance 350 full writes to drive

Performance Sata SSD based off u/newmaxx's buying guide list [borecraft.com]. It's the same tier as WD blue 3D/MX500/860 evo.
This is pretty significant to see a 2TB SSD considerably under $200 this year. Good deal.

I'm dumb about storage. Would this be enough better than the standard version for ~$40 more? Ignore the math, I have account promos.

What do you mean by "standard" version?

Non 3D-NAND. The cheaper SanDisk 2TB SSD.

While WD Blue usually is not the best, they are listing it as Performance. Guess they haven't tested the WD Red or WD Black yet?

Pretty much depends on what application you're looking for. SanDisk is not a bad brand, so any of them will be a decent option for the average person. Would probably not use it in a high performance setting (high data volume changes), though.

I've had to RMA a couple of SanDisk SSDs so I would be reluctant to trust it with 2 TB's worth of data.

If you need a 2TB SSD that isn't a QLC drive today, this is an excellent deal. Been tracking 2TB SSD's for a while and this is one of the lowest for a name brand I've spotted in weeks. SanDisk is owned by WD and this product has a 5-year warranty. This drive would be really good as the final 2.5 inch drive for an older laptop that you've filled up and don't want to replace yet -- particularly if it's replacing a mechanical HDD.
If you don't need Samsung EVO performance, it should be a decent investment.

Someone mentioned the price is not the lowest for The 2TB SanDisk Ultra. How much was it for at the lowest? As far as I remember, this is the lowest...
