Haven't bought a new laptop in years. Can someone tell me if this is a deal that meets my needs or I should wait for the Costco $750 deal?

Looking to have a laptop that'll last me the next 4-5 years with me starting grad school. Won't be gaming, but I like the idea of having a number pad and also the 2-1 mode to flip over and read through PDFs. Do I even need a rig with >8GB? Is the Costco lenovo an overkill for what I'm looking for? You don't need more than 8GB, but you'll probably want to make sure there's upgradability for the future. For browsing and reading, that Flex is overkill in terms of CPU/memory specs, but it might not last 5 years in terms of build quality, depending on how hard you are on electronics. The Yoga line will be better, though I haven't looked into the C740 specifically. The 730 and 720 were pretty good, but not great, in terms of issues.

almost every decent deal I've seen comes with soldered ram, but also doesn't have the 2-in-1 with a number pad. Figured it'll just be best if I get something with 12-16gb to avoid the future hassles.
