This Yamaha ATS 1080 refurb for same price is a much, much better product with HDMI, subwoofer out, decent bass, and all around superior sound vs the Bose. I own this and, paired with an inexpensive subwoofer, it sounds like a far more expensive audio setup. I have the real deal 7.1 surround system (Klipsch Reference speakers, SVS Pb12-nsd Sub, Yamaha Aventage RX-A770 receiver) in my living room, and really this sound bar with subwoofer in my bedroom is almost 90% as good for 10% of the cost (ideal for a bedroom anyway).

I have one it's great for movies but music is garbage on it. Bass is lavking. Wish I went with a bar with a separate sub.
It's also available directly from Bose for the same price

BOSE speakers are flat out terrible for music, nothing about them make the music sound natural.

I hear ya. It's crazy that this speaker doesn't even have a sub out (for a powered subwoofer). I'm glad I went with a soundbar that has a sub out. A cheap Insignia powered subwoofer made the difference (at least for me).

Alternatively, you will need to add 10 Solo 5 to get the same quality.

I've been looking for a reasonably priced sound bar with good vocal audio for movies... my wife has trouble hearing when people are speaking with our current system. This doesn't appear to have great features for that. Any suggestions, slickdeals sages?

Size of the room and where she is sitting matters. I suggest you wait for a 5.1.2 system or get Vizio d series version if you can't wait right slick deal time. But I suggest you have a sound bar, 2 speakers; left and right of the user and bass system to start.

Just got this a few weeks back for the same price. My feedback is that for the $100, I think it's worth a buy for a single bedroom if you don't expect the full surround sound experience, but still want somewhat crisp audio and bass that is still way better than stock TV audio would provide. At $150+ I would probably pass and wait for another deal.

My only gripe is that I can't use my current tv remote where I was able to with my previous soundbar and have to use the huge universal remote that it comes with.
