Not to disagree, but don't want people to be led astray either. This must be hit or miss. Potentially due to internet connection or wifi. We have 6 scattered around our house (2 hubs and 4 minis). The connection and responsiveness are some of the best devices I've had. Only time they don't work is if the internet is down.

If I'm not mistaken, 1st gen is sold as "Google Home Mini" not "Nest Home Mini".
The Nest Home Mini has improved sound quality, and I could be mistaken, but I think it was hinted that it might have some local processing ability the Google Home Mini doesn't.

Two can be paired in stereo mode if that's what you mean.
I have five of these around my house, and I like them when they work but honestly I have endless issues with dropped connections, unresponsiveness, etc. Not sure I would have put them all over if I realized how frustrating the connections might be. I have two routers in the house, and I think it might be confusing them.

Yeah, you can set as a speaker group within Google home. I have 5 speakers paired up within my home
Yes. You can create a speaker group in the Google home app very easily. You can also control the volume for each independently of each other.
