My new HP Chromebook 14C with Core i3 and 8GB RAM doesn't see this deal. It sees only the Disney+ perks, which doesn't help me since I'm already a subscriber.

This is incredible

I have a Pixelbook and have been using Stadia already for a few months. If I'm reading this right, I just get 3 more months of Stadia Pro, for free, even though I'm already a subscriber?

That's slick for me and anyone else who has a Chrome book.

If you haven't tried Stadia, I do recommend it. It's free, comes with a bunch of free games, and I'm honestly very impressed with the lack of latency. Many times, it feels like I'm playing it local (most impressive to me is Celeste as far as latency is concerned - I have many many hours in that game on Switch and PC, and it feels the same when I'm using the Stadia controller). Of course, if you don't have solid internet, you will likely not get the same results, but if you do have solid internet (wired and 50mbps plus), I highly recommend it as an additional avenue for playing games.

I haven't signed up yet but my old Acer R11 touchscreen is eligible. Amazing if it works on touchscreen or BT gamepad. https://www.engadget.com/chromebo...28319.html

There's some odd wording in the eligibility terms:
Quote :
Eligibility: Only Chromebooks launched after June 2017 are eligible. Please see here [google.com] for a list of eligible devices launched before June 2017.
The list of Chromebooks in the deal post is actually all the older models made before June 2017 that would appear ineligible to redeem the offer, even though Google's terms seem to contradict themselves.

I tried on an Acer R11 and was not eligible to redeem.

There are touch controls and it also supports Bluetooth controllers (I think the BT controller will be a far better experience than touchscreen controls for most games). Also supports K+M, which has gotten pretty good in my own personal experience

While the catalog of games is still pretty weak, there are more than enough to keep me entertained. I use Stadia controllers and don't notice any more lag than when playing the same games on Steam.

So I get a few months for free. People who aren't already subscribers get a few months of free games. Free is always nice.

yes, turns out my R11 is too old now that I checked. It's still handy for streaming media and I just bought a gaming laptop. I was interested in the new Lenovo DUET, some open box at BB but not locally. The new Ultra Chromecast should be out any day now and it comes with a remote.

Just did this on my Pixelbook, couldn't have been easier. Thanks OP, $30 in my pocket essentially since I am a Pro subscriber already.

No luck on the Lenovo Duet. Bummer, I plan on subscribing soon to give Orcs Must Die 3 a run.

just to be clear I can sign up on a chromebook and play on a different computer or would I have to use that Chromebook? And since you're here, this will work on iOS too correct? Thanks!
