It's not that crap. Not everyone needs OLED. For a good brand at this size and with Costco warranty, this is very good deal.
Love this TV! Native 120hz, VA Panel, Direct-lit but without Local Dimming, good natural color, great panel uniformity, low input lag, solid HDR performance (only 500-600 nits though) Highly recommended at this price.
This for sure

I was going to pull trigger but too many complaints over black formity and wifi issue.

I rather wait for sale of $699 on Hisense 75 inch Android TV and buy it with 5 year extended warranty from bestbuy. I know they have it for sale like every other weekend.

IMO, Hisense Reviews are better then this Sony and half the price over 10 inches differences in size.
Are you serious? The Hisense H65 "G" Series? What reviews? Customers? BaHaHaHa... Can't be much different than the "F" series.

How do you know it doesn't have local dimming? Does it have zones so it can leave of the back-light in various areas?

HDMI 2.1 allows the PS5 to surpass 4k@60. But I doubt many games will do that.

Video devices like Apple, Roku, Fire tv etc etc output video at 60hz. The only time you would want/need 120hz is for stuff like game consoles or PC. There isn't really such a thing as 120hz video (right now), and if there was it would look so awful no one could tolerate it. Think of the soap opera effect you see when motion smoothing is enabled? Now double it.

I am a little curious about that statement that this tv won't take a 120hz 1080p input.... that was from Rting's review, but I would try to fact check that against Sony? Maybe it's only on a certain HDMI port in game mode or something, but I find that suspect.
Please let us know whatever you find about 120hz

Been reading this thread all day. Trying to convince roommate to go halfsies with me.

Well I figured I can sell my year-old LG 75" TV for at least $500. Bringing my total cost down to about 1000 bucks for an 85! In for 1.

This is a great TV for a great price. I have the XBR-75X850E. Mine has an IPS panel but still has an amazing picture. Given that this one is a few years newer and a VA panel instead, well worth it. IPS May have better viewing angles but with the VA panel you should get deeper blacks that won't look gray.

Decent CUSTOMER reviews for the Hisense... still not professional reviews. Whatever floats your boat for your viewing habits. For me... I do some gaming and watch a lot of sports, so need more than a dim 60hz panel with poor upscaling.

No FALD is a heartbreaker. For those who haven't had a tv with FALD, you're missing out on deep blacks - almost OLED-like.
I have the 85" 850F. When I was shopping I saw the 900 and 850 side by side. The 900 had fald and the difference in black levels wasn't enough for a major price increase. I am very happy with the 850. Even without fald the black levels are excellent on the VA panel

"Not everyone needs OLED"... Sure, nobody needs it, but everyone wants it. Not everyone - err, NO ONE needs any of these display technologies actually.. whether that's QLED, ULED, Plasma, etc. All we NEED is water, food, and shelter. No one needs OLED or ANY of these technologies. We simply want them.

mofos hating and comparing to $4000 OLED thats 65"

come on bruh.

I rather have size

65" is so 2012

TVs are becoming disposable if you continue to get same size but simply better technology. At least if you get a big TV like this, there is still wow factor and satisfaction as you are getting more real estate.

its like buying hyundai over a toyota or honda. im still getting the toyota or honda even though the hyundai has better reviews. feels weird buying a hyundai and i relate that to my electronics purchase. Hisense? nah, ill stick with the sony It has that wow factor, people who come to my crib and see a 85" sony, they know i aint playin-- even though i am because its not OLED

Still think I should keep the 86" LG. Better viewing angle with the IPS panel.
Of viewing angle is important, get ips. If picture quality and blacks are important, get VA.
Personally I consider this Sony far above the LG. This is midrange while the LG is budget.

Would this fit in a 1996 Geo Metro?
I think a Geo Metro might fit in this.
