It's not that crap. Not everyone needs OLED. For a good brand at this size and with Costco warranty, this is very good deal.
Love this TV! Native 120hz, VA Panel, Direct-lit but without Local Dimming, good natural color, great panel uniformity, low input lag, solid HDR performance (only 500-600 nits though) Highly recommended at this price.
This for sure

The legs on the newer sonys are outrageous i just got a 75 inch 950g as a replacement for my 75 inch 940e which had center stand and the legs hang like an inch over the the entertainment console.
Quote from thebals :
The pair of stand feet it comes with are about 18 inches deep and 54 inches (approx) wide once installed on the TV. I have a counter top that is about 16x46, hence the included feet will be too big to fit that. Hence bought the Vivo vesa mount stand I listed; it is gonna be approximately 400mm (~16 in) wide plus the width of the angular bottoms of the feet (~4.5 in on each side), which comes to ~25 in wide. I didn't measure the depth but they do fit on the counter I have.

The original legs are too long and doesn't fit my table. Hope this one will fit better.
Ah I see. Thanks for the info!

The Sony X850G has a native 120Hz panel, but it can't display a 120Hz signal from 1080p or 1440p sources

I keep seeing this, however the rtings review is for all sizes except the VA 85" panel. Also, if it is true for this size as well, what actually runs at 120 Hz? Just the built-in apps @ 1080p? What about things like Netflix in 4k?

Costco delivery guys just dropped mine off. Excited to get this mounted up tomorrow. 65" looked too small in the new house.

Not a chance. I have a company I used many times in the past coming tomorrow morning to mount it on a monoprice full motion mount.

And I don't think people buy such huge sets to replace in just 2-3 years

Yeah.... BUT they have to....

Gone are the days in which a person can keep a TV longer than 5 years.
You'll find tons of reviews for mid and upper tier TVs in which people updated their comments to state that even though they were very satisfied with the TV, it lasted a few months past the two year mark.

*Perfect example.

Someone a few comments up, states their 75 inch 940e recently went belly up.... that's the 2017 model.

Photos from Best Buy reviews scare me. Hopefully mine isn't going to be this bad.

For the price, you may able to live with it, especially if you watch in bright room and/or bright content. In dark room, dark content, you will see the light blooming in the background which is very annoying. I couldn't live with it. I copied and pasted my review on Costco below.

Posted picture here so you can see what I mean.

For being a VA panel I would have expected to see a lot better black uniformity.

I have received the TV and am testing it
Some of app icons look blurry, some of content like NFL prior game also not perfect likely old low resolution
Not as crisp like my Q8 75 and of course the 55 lg oled I have but that's given at this pricepoint, I think I can live it

Please use

Make sure you are using correct HDMI port. You may also have to change the HDMI settings to 'Enhanced' instead of 'Standard'.

How come this TV hasn't sold out yet? Is Sony having a hard time selling these? Or maybe most people don't have a Costco membership?

Not sure if it's too late, but Costco membership is $60 and they give you a $40 off online coupon right now.

Replaced a broken XBR-75X850E. This one seems cheaper build quality. It has more plastic and more top heavy which can be more more dangerous for small children. The 75x850E was heavy, but not as heavy and mostly bottom heavy so it was more stable. Overall happy about the purchase, but it is a bit thick and cheap feeling.

Watched a movie at night, I am satisfied for the price value. I know it's no where near desired oled 77 or Qled but good enough
