It's not that crap. Not everyone needs OLED. For a good brand at this size and with Costco warranty, this is very good deal.
Love this TV! Native 120hz, VA Panel, Direct-lit but without Local Dimming, good natural color, great panel uniformity, low input lag, solid HDR performance (only 500-600 nits though) Highly recommended at this price.
This for sure

Watched a movie at night, I am satisfied for the price value. I know it's no where near desired oled 77 or Qled but good enough
Thanks for the updates. Any opinions on the TV itself (not picture quality). How are the bezels, materials, back thickness? Is it an attractive set when it's off?

Yes TV looks good
Right now it's on stand and is not very stable, easily moves back and forth. I didn't see installers put any screws- just snap the base
Someone else commented about top heavy vs bottom
I am going to put on wall once a wider mount comes

Replaced a broken XBR-75X850E. This one seems cheaper build quality. It has more plastic and more top heavy which can be more more dangerous for small children. The 75x850E was heavy, but not as heavy and mostly bottom heavy so it was more stable. Overall happy about the purchase, but it is a bit thick and cheap feeling.
E... F... G
Wait, what happened with the 2-3 year old 75x850e?

It had a crack. Nephew threw a tantrum and toss something at the TV. Surprisingly it stilled worked. Just a huge crack in one corner. Expensive I know. He learned his lesson. : )

Yeh I noticed that. I was wondering if it will hold in an earthquake. I was thinking of securing it using some metal ropes or something to the base. Because it is top heavy, I don't think any screws in the base will help.

Maybe OT, but how have people's experience been with these warranties? Do they come to your house to fix/replace it? Do they expect you to take it to a local costco store? Ship an 85" TV somewhere. Sometimes having a warranty is good piece of mind until you have to use it.
Here's my experience: same warranty from Costco.....
Dimming zone burned out on my 70 inch Vizio P series. Sent in some photos, they said yep it's borked.
Emailed me an offer of 70 inch E series. I said no, mine is FALD the E series isn't.
They came back with a 75" Samsung offer. I said no, that's edge lit.
Then they said "how about a full refund check and you keep the TV?"
And I said ok.

I'm really considering this for a basement TV, mainly as a movie TV is the HDR performance legit? How are the the black levels and contrast? And at 5-600 nits peak I'm sure that's fine for a low lit basement
