Note: although it said you need to port in, I was able to checkout by getting a new #. So probably no need to port.

I learned from SD to get a Sim from ebay to port out from Sprint. I think it will serve the same purpose.
Go to eBay and search at&t phone port (2.49 + tax, I used empiremobi)
phone, account and pin numbers emailed to you

From other threads, there's something about this e6 that is different than others.

older $20 thread for information purposes

uhhh yeah? I think the $25 price point reflects that and no where was it mentioned that this was actually free free. You still have to trade in and also purchase 1 month of service

saw that i can choose either e6 or ZTE Blade A3 Prime. which one is better?
E6 if you plan to use the phone on other carriers in the future since it is compatible with most carriers.
All the ZTE phones from Visible are very limiting in term of bands, and they are not usable on most other carriers.

Can I trade in my old, garbage Amazon Fire phone that is cracked and missing a sim tray? I think if I prayed really hard, I might be able to get it to power on to give me an imei number

Been using "visible" Moto e6's on other networks since the last big deal on these 6 months ago. Some I had put on Visible (VZW) network then ported out. Others I just took it out of the box and to Sprint and TMO. No locking. But you should know that about Visible phones in general.

Phone specs are very entry level. But what do you expect for basically the cost of a 10 year old MSRP $5 tracfone in exchange?

For me I used a handful of them 6 months ago for hotspot purposes so I could ditch cable company for a month and then sign up as a new customer, saving me $60 or so a month for many years to come.

I then used them as place holders for Sprint $300 BYOD per line deal, and used the numbers I got from the Visible deal as well as the port ins.

Have also bought BB sprint unlocked phones and put the sim in these e6's instead to complete the deal, so I didn't have to worry about phones bought being locked for 50 or now 40 days.

For now, Post S/TMO merger, with the ridiculous phone deals slowing down, I have put these e6's to pasture somewhat. Still use 2 as hotspots rather than burn battery life of flagships. Letting the youger kiddos use some of these as wifi Duo callers during the pandemic. And of course I always have a couple as backups for all the above. I'm sure at some point I will go VZW BYOD deal and use them again.

Point is, we all know these are some of the most most basic phones out there. But they are universally unlocked, and are very handy for many uses. But if you just want to trash their specs, I guess you don't get the big picture anyways. . .
Note that you can run the E6 without the battery if it's plugged in. So no need to burn these batteries for a hotspot either. What app are you using? I'm pdaNet+

Crackhead phone , used as a burner , sold at city Bodegas and family dollar type stores to urban poor. 2 gb of ram in a wold where 4gb is the minimum needed to run Android effectively. Yeah it runs on 2 but turtle slow. This is a junk phone I'd advise not buying.

how crappy can the trade in be?
When I switched to Visible I sent in a non-working old ass Boost Mobile phone that wasn't even LTE. They took it no problem.

Used these things for everything from home hotspot (a handful of them) for a month so as to lower my cable bill by $60 a month for life, needed IMEI's for Sprint $300 BYOD's and the needed Visible port in numbers for that deal, even as wifi only Duo callers for the younger kiddos.

Sure I will use them again for a VZW etc. BYOD deal if they make it MC/Visa again.

Point is, spec wise the phone bites. But it's saved/made me enough to buy several flagships. . .

And if you can't find a good use for them, just sell them NIB for much more than you invested (with or without using the IMEI for other purposes first)
Can I sit on the sim and choose not to activate it or would the phone only work initially with a Visible sim? I currently have 4 working old phones: 1. old flip phone, one digit on the number pad has fallen off but still works, 2. very cracked moto x 2, still working when plugged, 3. amazon fire phone, cracked screen, no sim tray but works, 4. not damaged t-mobile nokia phone, still so pretty and pink
I have plenty of GV numbers I can port.

Thing is, this was stated in my email confirmation on one order and it's making me worry:
You chose Visible Swap. Just send us your old phone in good working condition within 14 days to avoid being charged.

Should I go ahead and send one of the cracked devices anyway (the Fire Phone offends me to this day) or choose the undamaged nokia?

Take out a couple of digits. The checker does not seem to care.

Based on my five swaps since the beginning of the year, you could probably send them a ripped Baby Yoda sticker and they'd accept it. The IMEI doesn't need to match what you typed in, either.

At least up until a few months ago. This is why you use a virtual cc. If they get pissy about it, not my problem.

Not bad deal if you have a really old droid phone sitting around. I read fine print and it does not say it has to be operable. .. but you might want to call to find out if if you're considering the free phone swap.
You get $50 visa cash card + case
When you hold the # for 2 months... service is
$25 new sign up, then $40/mo. = $65

So you actually end up paying $15 for 2 mos.. + new phone.

-- Respond if you know the fine print and if what I'm explaining is accurate.

Weird. My Factory Unlocked Note 9, purchased directly from samsung and paid in full 2 years ago, says incompatible when I use the IMEI checker... guess I won't be signing up.
Note 9 is better than this. Why would you trade in unless if broken.

Why would you trade that phone for a crappy E9, they're giving away for free? Not sure what you're smoking, but it ain't helping you with decisions.
Plus, it don't need to be compatible in order swap, that's kinda the wbilf point in swapping, you're trading in a non working phone w/ one that does work on their system...
I certainly wouldn't be trading in a Note 9 though.. Lol... WTF..

Anyone that needs a # to port, just use a Google Voice #, it's free to sign up for one but costs $3 to port it, so basically costs $3 in the end if you're trying to do this deal. Much better than buying one off eBay, no need to wait for them to send or deal with any sketchy sellers. Everything is pretty much instant w/ Google.
Your account # is your 10 digit phone number and your 4 digit pin
