My wife went to costco today and snagged a 7.0 Cu Ft top draw freezer for $159.99, certainly cheaper than what you can get from other stores. She snagged the last one in my local store, but might be available in other costco stores.

You absolutely should get one if you have the ability! Keep it level during transport and don't plug it in for several hours once you get it placed in your home. Good price for your security this winter..... Also inside dents easy so don't drop a Turkey hard into it!

My costco had around 25-30 of them a few weeks back. I thought about getting one, went back to get it and they were gone within a couple days.

Yeah, my wife saw 3 of them she got in to the store, but when she went back 20 minutes later, she only saw one, and got that last one.

This sucker saved my bacon back at the beginning of the craziness. Bought it the day after Italy shut down. Between this and stocking up on the long life milk at Aldi I didn't have to leave my house for nearly six weeks.

The manual is a bit confusing. It said:

Important: If the freezer has been in a horizontal position for any period of time, wait 24 hours to allow the refrigerant to settle before plugging in the freezer.

and in the bullet points below it there is a note saying, Tilting the freezer more than 45 degrees could damage the compressor and the sealed system. Also when moving the freezer, DO NOT turn it upside down or on its side.

It is also tough to put the casters without tilting it or laying it in one of the sides.

I didn't put the wheels on mine, I built a platform to keep it off the ground. The wheels looked like a PIA so I didn't use them. The unit will not sit level without the wheels so either you use a shim or put the wheels on.

Is this only available at business centers? Also any previous owners can speak to the quality? If you don't want to use the wheels can it just sit flat (even on a carpeted area) ?

How much does these normally go for before the $160 sale price?
