As someone who works at a public library, I recommend stopping by sometime! You can order any book or other media and check them out for free when they come in; and most libraries have lifted fees and holds on accounts. In addition, there's Libby, OverDrive, and other online resources through libraries that are free. So I'd much rather support local libraries than Amazon, especially when it doesn't cost you a thing.
You can gift the membership to yourself or someone link Kindle [amazon.com]
My membership was ending soon so I clicked on cancel today to see if I could qualify for this offer, and I was given a pop up offer for 3 months for 9.99 which is better than 6 months for 29.99, so I accepted.

I did that too and with mine coming up due, tried to cancel again and it gave me nothing this time. Seems it won't let me in this offer either since I'm still active till end of the 3 month period.

Thanks for the heads up. Just tried canceling mine and got the same offer.

I don't know, I gifting as a Christmas gift. You could gift it at a later date and activate it then.

My membership ends mid-October but Amazon doesn't give me the option to renew for 6 months at $29.97. I canceled my membership but wasn't offered the 3 months for $9.99 either. Bummer!

Can confirm this works perfectly. Enter your email address in the recipient field, choose payment type, confirm. Check your email and click the activation link and then confirm on the webpage. It'll then take you to your Kindle Unlimited subscription management page. If you have a current sub it'll show two lines for subs: One that is current and the expiration date, as well as the gift terms. I'm now paid through April 2021.

This! I actually had a free 2 months offer as a card holder, so I purchased the gift first, activated the free 2 months, then redeemed the gift. 8 months for 30 bucks.

Thank you! I clicked on the link you provided and sure enough I was able to purchase the 6 month deal for $29.99...sent it to myself and this was in the message:

"If you purchased this membership as a gift, forward this email to the recipient.
Already a Kindle Unlimited member? This gift will be added to your existing membership."

Guess I'll purchase another one so I can get a full year for $60.😁

Is there much value here?

I had a free 3-month membership earlier this year, and thought the quality of available selections were quite poor.

A better deal and strategy is to wait for the 3 month free membership, read a lot, take a break when it expires, wait for the 3 month free offer again.
